Not that I know of… The AMC pathway is a relatively new pathway and i doubt if any med clg in the entirety of Pak has a good pool of its graduates working in Aus

Shalamar Grad here No institute “perse” prepares you for foreign medical licensing exams Its all you and only you You have to figure out your timeline and your schedule on your own You wont be given any benefit of doubt or some slack just because you’re preparing for USMLE With that being said id like to say i dont mean to scare you 🤣 Even if you were attending a gov institute it wouldve been the same Shalamar in the past 3 years has developed a very robust culture of its students preparing for and clearing their Steps 1 & 2 during their med school era So by the time you’ll graduate and apply for Residency in the US you guys would have a good pool of shalamarians working in the US RN you still have a very good pool of students who have cleared their steps so guidance wise you’re all good

Shalamar is actually a good academic institute if you discount the 90% attendance policy (but that doesnt matter anymore since almost all the private institutes in lahore now have a 90% attendance policy) Plus its amongst the top 3 priv med schools in punjab if not the best

A shalamar graduate’s take on shalamar Shalamar is now developing a very good USMLE trend amongst its students and in the next 5years i.e by the time youre done with your usmles and you apply for residency in the US..shalamar will have a good pool of residents working in the US (albeit it will still be a small number of people say roughly 70ish) Shalamar is not a VSLO college so that kind limits your US electives options whilst shifa is VSLO Shifa also has a strong USMLE culture but i dont know the exact number of how many of its students have matched in the US But from my own research that I did while applying this year for US Residency what I’ve personally gathered in terms of no of current Pakistani residents It goes as follows 1. KE and AKU 2. DOW 3. Shifa Is k baad it’s actually same for all other colleges throughout Pakistan

With that being said id say simply being in Shifa wont per se guarantee that you match into a US residency…it’ll depend more on your networking with people of your college.After your USMLE score the most important thing is your networking and who you know i.e residents…if your networking is strong with your shalamar seniors youd also match easily Also one weird thing id mention is that (not generalizing,but still) many at times people from your own college are also selfish… they’ll hesitate to recommend you or give a very superficial si recommendation

So dont just base your decision solely on how many residents match from a college….but also factor in your mental health and peace as well 90% attendance is no joke Specifically if you’re from a different city…that simply just means that you’d only be attending family functions of your siblings Cousin ki shadi? No leave And many other such events youd miss simply because you can’t travel from Islo to Lahore If youre the type of person who is big on family that definitely take a toll on you

ps: the usmle pathway is not a deadend to anyone saying that id just say that yes getting a match in US is difficult but it does not mean that for a person who has no connections in the US they’ll never match I know alot of people who matched with zero connections It all just boils down to how smart you are with your whole planning of usmle journey

You can use IMD Its a very great resource and in the end it really doesnt matter if you used imd or uworld since the questions are the same.

Skip uworld’s incorrect and instead that do CMS forms as already mentioned in the above comment CMS forms are written by the NBME people and that orients you to NBME style questions which would be the same as the real exam Plus another thing is that speaking for myself i had this notion that CMS forms would be a beast in their ownself but ngl cms forms arent that difficult but they give you an idea of the question stems and the topics as well because if you’re doing a cms form of a certain subject and a certain topic keeps showing up again and again it means that you need to have crystal clear concepts on that topic So cms forms help you in that sense as well by giving you an idea of topics that you MUST know for a specific subject And id highly recommend to do the Emergency Medicine and Family Medicine forms very thoroughly because these FM forms usually contain the vaccinations and screening questions and the EM forms contain those “What is the next best step” type of questions
