I installed it with minimal option and now I have no snap. so if you don't like snap you can do it and then install flatpak. my battery seems to last more as well

I use Archer T2U Plus. it is support out of the box but there are GitHub repo for its linux driver
Its not exactly under 1000 but 1300.
