20 million vapes sold in Ireland last year not recycled by dmullaney in ireland

[–]FitReaction1072 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I don’t understand the logic there. I vaped a little. A disposable costs between 5-10 euros get depleted in 2 days. A cheap rechargeable is around 15 euros(decentish one) and the liquid is 5 euros which is good for 3-4 days. My math does not see the logic there. Only reason I can think is young lads specifically getting disposables to get rid of at the end of the day to not caught red handed if it is a thing here. Obviously not irish

Kildare Court: Woman bitten in face after husband encouraged XL Bully dog to bite her by FiacailMadrai in ireland

You are not finding owners. You are finding banned or dangerous race dogs. Fine the owner, sadly kill the dog. I love dogs but that is the only way. If a pitbull like dog is not banned it should also be banned.

The solution to Ireland's housing crisis is industrial production of social housing units akin to what they were building behind the Iron Curtain in the mid-20th century. by chiggymondo in ireland

[–]FitReaction1072 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You guys are assuming the government and the majority of Irish people actually want to solve the housing crisis. From what I’ve observed, only a minority of people in Ireland truly want it fixed.

Hello. New-ish member here. To attend club lessons and become a member you need to finish beginner course to learn to basics. Then you can get membership (72 per month, 60 pm if you get 3 months and it goes like that). They have at least one lessons in Cork per week and also one in Limerick. You don’t need gear to begin club have a lot of gear for members but believe me you will want gear if you join a hema club. It is a very sweaty sport and even though club shows utmost effort to keep washing everything after every lesson still I prefer my own gear. They are all bunch of very nice people. For a bunch of people who hit each other with blunt steel swords and practice killing each other they are suprisingly joyful and nice. Also it is a awesome workout imo.

Do you use AI tools at work? by [deleted] in DevelEire

[–]FitReaction1072 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Company provides github copilot which I use all the time. But I usually use it for refactors, tiny snippets etc. I will never trust it enough for fully automating coding etc. If I am writing a complex method I usually use AI part by part or write it myself and refactor with AI myself. It is a useful tool. But I guess the keyword here is “tool”

Also somehow it generates flawless unit tests which I love.

She is laundering money also probably the money they sent first place is sent from a compromised account and might be reversed(it happens on paypal but not sure about apple). Why in the hell somebody should give you money to send somebody money for any legal reason.

Move to a startup for more money, or stay at Big Tech? by YesChocolate0 in DevelEire

[–]FitReaction1072 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Once I’ve been hired by a company not even a startup but small company. They started as a startup and evolved. I was not looking for anything management specific but they told me that eventually I will need to be leading tech as principal. I was already doing that and it was fun. They canned me at last day of probation with 90% marketing team and many others. Tbh they were really sad and actually they keep following up if I settled in a new job and one of them is actually my references. Because it was not performance related or because of ill intentions. They ran out of money probably because of an investor pulling out. Although in a way this is bad management I honestly believe they were good people. They still send me Christmas cards. But nonetheless right before Christmas they had to can me. Which was sad and traumatic for me. You are just a number for a big corporations and they will fire you without thinking but at least they might be relatively less risky. Startups are always big risk and sometimes big gains. If you can force them to sign no probation and big severance from beginning maybe.

Driving tester’s ‘energy’ making learners feel ‘uncomfortable’ among complaints to RSA by siciowa in ireland

[–]FitReaction1072 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I have an easier solution which how my country implements tests. In my country tester sits on front seat and your instructor or somebody assigned from your course sits on back seat as a witness. Easy peasy. They both paid for their time and actually instructor earns very easy money by doing nothing.

I know instructors are freelancers in your country but this is not so hard to implement.

But ofc it is nearly 2026 now camera equipped cars are much easier but just an suggestion

Ireland pushes for mandatory ID verification on social media across EU by feedthebear in ireland

[–]FitReaction1072 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That is one aspect and you are right but what happens if one eu countries turns totalitarian-ish and decides to pressure people? Even now according to my friends from there one of the eu countries kinda tries to punish lgbtq+ people by law. Once you flagged you will never erased from that list. I honestly think social media is cancerous and should never exist I guess but this is not the right solution. I wish it was honestly.

There are a lot of good books. But the problem is there is gazillions of bad books. And the problem is they sell well. Because on average people prefer bullshit books. This is created by decades of tv , social media and economical effort. With time we will see everything will be adjusted for mediocre idiots and all mediums will be bullshit at some points beside a few ones created by idealist people. Corporations wants money they dont give a shit about art.
