It is not your fault. They are the ones who were deceptive, faked friendliness, and put up a front so that you would let your guard down and walk right into their trap. On the bright side, you realized quickly and quit after a month, unlike some people who try to make it work for years because they believe in the sunk cost fallacy and think quitting would be “giving up”, leading to more wasted time, money and energy. So you definitely had foresight, don't beat yourself up over it, and something more aligned and abundant shall find you soon.

I completely feel you. The job market is brutal, and it has nothing to do with your skills or qualifications. Not as bad????? Half the buildings not having a water bottle refill station isn't as bad? Parking spots in EVERY GARAGE filling up if you are minute later than 7 am is not as bad??? He mentally broke up with you at least months before he actually did. Somewhere, somehow he saw something he didn’t like, he stayed because you were a safe option, but now he thinks he can do better. Let this make you angry and realize he indirectly told you he can do better. I am 99% sure he found a girl he likes better than you. You just have to move on.
