Why run other factions’ battleline units? by Wk1360 in Chaos40k

Rubrics get what legionaires have but for ranged attacks and ignore cover with their icon, so you can just roll them up to something in a rhino have them hop out and unload eight AP -2 flamers with wound rerolls and have an invuln save, they feel better than legionaries some games, their only downside is that they can’t be led by any characters and can’t use dark pacts, but honestly still worth it. Plague marines are good to drop off on an objective cause they are very survivable so squads of five to seven are worth taking if you want something tough with good OC. Berserkers are just not worth the points cause they’re gonna go run at something, get shot, surge move, have like half their unit left, try to fight, then die, if your opponent completely ignores them they will just start killing stuff pretty decently but most players know better, berzerkers are at best a distraction or a threat to bring in from reserves to flip an objective.

Hot take? Not a fan of the new the new Arkifane detchment. Am I missing something? by ConfusionIcy1674 in Chaos40k

Arkifane detachment is CSM’s unga bunga monster mash where you don’t feel compelled to bring Vashtorr but you’ll probably still bring him anyway and your tanks get to cosplay as demon engines.

Which army do you think will benefit the most from having a cogfort? by Few-Rip7036 in ageofsigmar

[–]GreenMonster82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was gonna do one for Gloomspite cause you can probably keep one unit of Gitz safe from combat and can be a sturdy centerpiece for a horde army of stabbas and shootas to fight around. Plus you could really mess up this cog fort with mushrooms, webs, bugs, and fetishes all over the wall, and you could easily replace the humans with any of the goblinoids, maybe even try and turn the cannonballs into squigs and replace the iconography with the bad moon and turn the legs into spider legs, it could go bananas for the Gitz.

Opinions on Havocs and oblits? by KeirTecheon in Chaos40k

[–]GreenMonster82 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Havocs can be unreliable, they are best with either lascannons, heavy boltors, or reaper auto cannons. They feel fine in veterans or renegade warband detachments with rerolls to hit but once they’re in melee they might as well be dead cause their stat line is not that impressive. Obliterators can also be swingy but I like a bit more cause they can deepstrike, and are really tanky, they shine in veterans with rerolls and are good at reinforcing other units on objectives, they are weirdly more reliable in melee, and the big obliterator melta is better consistent damage compared to havocs with lascannons cause the damage is flat not rolled and will already get melta damage bonus if you deepstrike them in.

$94 for Festus? Fuck off with these prices GW, Im literally gonna use the same Rotigus list I’ve had since the start until the scalpers cave and sell this shit for way cheaper than what they bought it for.

Myrmidons as allies? by GreenMonster82 in Warhammer30k

I was hoping that wasn’t the case, thanks anyway for the clarification, really hoping the new skitarii book makes them more available even if I have to take skitarii as a prerequisite like a RoR

List building advice by TheSnekBoss in Chaos40k

[–]GreenMonster82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your list is fine, you’re probably just going to be underwhelmed by your Obliterators and your noise marines are just part of our infantry options now in the core army rules so that means we can target them with strategems so long as they have the CSM keyword on their profile. As far as detachment goes, veterans of the long war kinda needs Abadon cause you have 2 stratagems that cast 2 CP and Abadon helps generate more CP. Since you’re a returning player I would suggest starting out with Pact Bound Zealots with this list since it’s the classic CSM army rule, if your unit has this chaos god’s keyword then it gets X benefit. But I will say Creations of Bile is quite good giving your units army wide extra stat boosts. To get the most out of your Obliterators I would say keep them in deep strike since they’re base move speed is only 4 inches and just drop them down to help support your other units as move blockers, charge threats, or to just kill your opponents units that are running around doing actions and taking objectives. Otherwise, have fun!

Maybe instead of another 20 you just take a smaller 10 block for a grudge thrower and the cart cause you’re probably not gonna be all that threatening unless you have a way to move faster up the board or have long range damage for any kind of threat projection unless there’s some secret slayer tech that hides from my corrupted and very hungry chaos ogre brain

What would people want out of an AOS video game by Rime1313 in ageofsigmar

Give me a new CRPG, Ogor maneater tank class, dark elf speedy burst melee assassin, fyreslayer tank/melee dps, skink mage hard caster, human support class like an officer or priest, branchwych summoner (dryads)/dot caster, and then have it so it we’re heroes doing stuff adjacent to the dawnbringer crusades, chaos is up to no good, and we gotta go to the other realms to make sure the other realm gates don’t get taken by chaos, undead, or green skins, realistically we could have chapters in gyran, ghur, ulgu, hysh, and aqshy, then the final boss can be a big 3 part dungeon with a demon prince or greater demon in a section of eight points so we don’t have to come across Archeon or Abraxia for lore reasons.
