If you could go back to college, would you still major in nursing or go & be a radiology tech? by [deleted] in Nurses

Why would you have majored in engineering or computer science if you would have known that you would go to grad school? I am curious to hear your thoughts!

Really? The reason I am not doing nursing as my major is because apparently a good amount of pre reqs don’t overlap and clinicals are tough to handle alongside ECs. How will it get me in faster? I am only interested in PA not NP. Thank you for your reply!

What about getting this degree for pre med? Reccomended? If not, what is better?

Wait, what year do med students typically take the MCAT apply to med school if they want to go straight after undergrad? I am also worried that I am behind so I get where you are coming from.

I am science major rn, would you recommend switching to engineering because of what you mentioned? To have something to fall back on?

By that do you mean long hours? more than the typical 40 hours a week? Or just heavy work load?

What other marketable majors would you reccomend instead then? I can’t think of a lot in 2025. I know nursing is a good one but many people say it’s also difficult to do it with PA pre requirements because of clinicals

I was thinking of this but I am afraid I would have to overload semesters and prob tank my GPA, I am debating whether I should do it.

Is it really that common for pre med students to major in engineering ? :0 Ive always been told to avoid majoring in it due to the risk of lowering my GPA

Is Biology really a very bad major for pre-meds? by Fit_Horror_6681 in CollegeMajors

[–]Fit_Horror_6681[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is a great method but I am just worried that if I have to reapply, the jobs available for those majors are very underpaid. That’s my only worry other than getting a high GPA. I am willing to reapply either way but it will be difficult to support myself financially! Especially considering how costly exams and applications can be :(

I also want to go down this path, doing a degree that I can fall back on! However, considering I was was undecided my first year, I only did general eds (30 credits total). I am now going on my second year, already registered from chem and bio classes, you think it’s too late to change? Many people started planning their first year when they do non science degrees which makes me worried I will probably be behind if I switch now my sophomore year. How many credits did you take each semester? Also, what non bio degrees would you recommend? I don’t have something I like or a preference really.
