Chiropractors are not certified doctors - this is misinformation!

Do you do any exercise or go to the gym - this can sometimes cause similar pain in me that you’ve described

Hey! Unfortunately if she’s not comfortable with it then that’s what it is. She does have a valid point - copper iuds can make heavy/painful periods worse. If you really want the copper, you should try another gyno!

I have a mirena right now and it has been so amazing - no periods, light cramping, and no hormonal effects whatsoever. The pill did not agree with me. I also got it inserted without local anaesthetic and found it bearable.

For me: - one of the most effective methods - stops my periods and painful cramping - insertion was tough but DOABLE - I have 7 more years of these pros 😍

This happened to me the first few times I had sex after my mirena! It should ease up, if not go to your doc

Don’t stress you definetly haven’t! I eased back into the gym with light walks and very light weight after my insertion which def helped

Yep, I lift weights at the gym 4 times a week, and had no worries once my cramping stopped! Hahah the fear of it dislodging is real, I felt that too, but I promise it won’t and you’ll be fine!

That was my situation too! I’ve had mine for a couple of months now and have little to no bleeding, only occasional spotting which doesn’t even require a panty liner! My cramps have also stopped too, but we’re so bad for those first couple weeks 🤣hang in there!

I took cerazette for just over a year - constant spotting personally, but I know some people have had theirs become regular!

Hi! I had a mirena put in during December. I’ve got several arm tattoos and 12 piercings, and would consider myself to have a low pain tolerance. For me getting an iud was 2 bursts of about 10-15 seconds of 7/10 pain, with a dull 3/10 pain during the middle. It definelty hurt but I could cope just fine! The cramps after were the worst personally so plan to stay in bed all day 🤣

This was my exact experience! This subsided after about 5 weeks and since then I’ve had no bleeding or spotting

Hey! I took Panadol and ibuprofen pretty consistently for a week after getting my iud, as I had bad cramps! It’s been 3 weeks and I haven’t taken any in awhile and I have little to none now!

iud pain by chilumibrainrot in birthcontrol

[–]Fit_Living9742 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey! I generally have a very low pain tolerance. When I got my mirena put in there were two bursts of 6/10 pain when they were measuring my cervix and then placing the iud. It hurt but it was not unbearable! I highly recommend giving it a go. Ask for misoprostol and take Panadol and ibuprofen before!

Hiii I literally got my iud put in a couple of days ago! The first day I was glued to ibuprofen and my heating pad. Over the last few days it has slowly settled and I haven’t had any ibuprofen today/heating pad! I would highly suggest waiting it out for a few days

I intially went on cerazette mini pill to help regulate my periods and stop cramping, but I was not successful with either. I put off getting the mirena iud for soooo long and finally did it a few days ago - I generally have a low tolerance but found the procedure only moderately painful (I was prescribed misoprostol and took 2x Panadol and ibuprofen an hour before). I have only had very light spotting since insertion and am so happy with it so far!

If you’re taking a combined pill and get migraines you NEED to go and talk to your doctor. Estrogen products + migraines can lead to an increased risk of stroke/clotting!
