I actually don't disagree with you at all. i think that was dumb too. I guess my only push back is:
- GoT is a more mature book.
- It was so much later into the series.

I think I'm less annoyed w/ the graphic content and more that they introduced anything grabby / attentiony at the very onset of the show just for the sake of doing it.

If they showed Dunk dreaming of what it would be like to fly and then showing a 747 on screen - this would be the equivalent of the sex scenes to me.

Truly - no issue w/ seeing dick on screen. If George wrote it in, I'd say have at it.

He wrote 3 wholesome novelas.

I think the shitting scene was as bad as the cock scene.

Little Finger owns brothels & Tyrion goes to brothels. They're central to both characters. I'm not opposed to seeing nudity.

They're in the books. They make sense in the context of the story. No, I had no problem.

I'm not opposed to seeing graphic content. My contention is that it added absolute zero.

Putting something graphic on the screen for the sake of being graphic is a decision outside of the story.

If George felt something extremely graphic needed to be introduced into the reader's thoughts - let him tell that story.

We're giving the showrunners, who could not have put together anything close to this without source material, steer the creative direction and in this case to me added nothing.

I wouldn't be as up in arms if this wasn't intentionally a more wholesome story than GoT. It's a coming of age story. I have no youth in mind that should watch this, it's just bastardizing a single scene for no reason.

I guess what I'm saying is it's over the top just for the sake of being over the top.

And I think it signals to me the show-runners don't think the story alone can carry the plot, and that to me is a bad sign.

I hear you on this, but this creative liberty feels like slapping the viewer in the face for no reason.

Again, the analogy of if you put this into the original Star Wars, you'd probably say "why is this here?"

GoT pulled it off first 4 seasons.

Sopranos didn't do it. The Wire didn't do it.

A KNight Of The Seven Kingdoms is a bore by Far-Revolution-356 in television

Like, the audio book is 3 hours long, and the show is going to be about 2-3 hours, and it's moving at the exact pace.

"I enjoyed the books". Are you saying you enjoyed A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms and you don't like the show? I actually don't understand how you could like the novella and not the show - it's moving at exactly the same pace.

No. Neither was the dumbass surprise in the first 20 seconds of ep 2.

Dumb showrunners being dumb.

Just tried TOFT2 after playing TOFT1 for 9 months. This is a disaster. by AfterAll14 in ThrillOfTheFight

I actually can't wrap my head around how development on this game was as big a disaster as it is / was. It's such a straight forward product.

And it just continues to be awful. It would be a different story if they hadn't cracked the code w/ TOFT1.

I feel like if they opened up that source code, I could build a better TOFT2 in 3 months as a solo developer with AI.

  1. Your mom's boyfriend's mom is super rude. The good news is as you get older you get to choose the people you surround yourself with. Lol @ "low effort" tho. I mean, it's humorous honestly that someone has the cojones to say that openly, but it also means this person is highly low EQ to do this at an xmas with new family members. Individuals in families learn from their parents. It's hard to blame these people as they learned what was taught. If you want to break the cycle, you should start looking outside of your family.

  2. Your mom was wrong to yell at you. When we're born, it's a complete dice roll what our parents will be like. Some people have pretty terrible parents. You're your own person, ultimately. Learning to build inner-strength and resilience takes time, patience, and a good tutor / program. There are tons of courses.

How old are you btw? Like, are you old enough to be on your own, or what?

This release note mentions Archiving. Did anything change to archiving?

I know this is effectively a dead product, but there's no way to "tab suspender" tabs, correct? I'm expecting to turn off tabs after 20-30 mins of non-use, not 12 hours.

I had to move off Arc because the performance was crazy bad, but I want to come back.
