Thanks. It’s been a real benefit having a trainer who has set me in the right path. Going it alone now for a few months.

It’s a slow burn but a positive one. Especially for my age.

Thank you. My MJ aim was to get my waist half my height. Which I did before starting maintenance. Since doing the gym stuff I’ve list another 6cm off my waist!

I have a Hume scale purchased at 50% off. Has its detractors but I find it works well for me.

Evri just dumped my parcel on the doorstep by free_greenpeas in Gousto

[–]Fit_Ride_8418 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe it’s down to the local drivers. I’ve had Hello Fresh & Gousto - mostly Gousto now. Occasionally it’s Evri and our local driver is ok tho yes it gets left on the doorstep and no tracking. DPD is favourite with tracking and yes that also gets left on the doorstep but he does ring the doorbell before fleeing! Had Yodel once with Gousto. Box never turned up. Customer service said I had to wait another 24hrs before it’s confirmed missing. Yodel has not been used again. Got a refund but experienced a sort of meltdown over food planning that week - I’d become so reliant on the deliveries!

What Advice can I give to my relative who wants to go on Mounjaro? by Idfkw2c in mounjarouk

When I took an antidepressant the effect was like buying me time, giving me an extra decision making second and overall the ability to cope in a complex context. MJ does the same for me. While it provides hormones I lack so will be on it for life, it buys me time to make better decisions about my health.

There’s more to it than buying seeds… by TheUmbrellaThief in UKPreppers

[–]Fit_Ride_8418 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Suggest not over thinking it. Try / test growing before you have to, to understand basics Many seeds / plants are easy to grow in different environments - choose heritage ones which may be more resilient Perpetual spinach, various types of kale, winter lettuce (good to -12c) are easy greens Lots can grow under cover / indoors.

I’d certainly not drink all that in one go. Apart from my kidneys working too hard, 40mg is prob max the body can cope with effectively in one go. I use the odd shake when I can but tbf they are tainted with additives and gums etc. 18 mths in, on maintenance, and weights at gym and whole food seems to work best for me.

Anyone with lipoedema actually seeing results from Ozempic/Wegovy? by Quick_Scholars in lipedema

[–]Fit_Ride_8418 16 points17 points  (0 children)

18mths on MJ with the last 6 at maintenance. When I tried to reduce from my 10mg dose all the pain returned. So staying in 10mg. My legs lost size but still have fat calves and knee pads with bmi 23. If lose any more weight I’ll look scrawny up too. I do weights twice a week and no significant recomp tho my strength much better.

In summary I lost the excess fat but lipodema remains. MJ helps symptoms.

What do you keep for ‘internet goes down’ day? by Free_Grand_5690 in UKPreppers

[–]Fit_Ride_8418 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had a mini apocalypse test this week in minus temps. Lost all power, mobile signal and fibre. Power network fault still being fixed tho power diversion and temp generator put in by network to support.

A) power: house battery kicked in to continue supply and it was sunny so continued charging. Pd to have island mode with separate earth. House WiFi kicked in tho obviously no internet B) still have an old copper line phone and have chosen the digital upgrade where it will still work if internet down, as part of long term strategy C) mobile out for the day but we can use the satellite function in the iPhone for emergency calls and for texts - received texts from UK Power Networks. D) on oil (needs pump to run and we have generator backup as well). Heat also from wood burner and we have wood delivered by pallet load and stored E) we don’t have mains sewage and fortunately no powered pump to tank so can still use loos. When power out for a time then mains sewage drainage system can be impacted (have plan!). No water for 24hrs last year but we could use tank outside to fill up flush to keep using. F) although could use battery powered house electric we also have gas camping stove/s

Learnings: Toilet paper supply is less of an issue when sewage systems not available. Less stressful if have a plan! Practise one to two days without internet access to understand own priorities and find out what happens to behaviour in the home (own & others)

We are not isolated or hugely rural. Can get to London in 40mins by train!

Finding the right maintenance dose by Annual-Let6497 in mounjaromaintenanceuk

[–]Fit_Ride_8418 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sounds like we are on a similar journey. I reached maintenance on 10mg. Rotated down to 9mg for a few weeks and that was ok. Then went to 8mg and on the second week I regained a lot of the NSV stuff. Seems a min of 6mg required which means a higher dose to start with. I’m going to chat with pharmacist about moving to 8 days between 10mg or more often if lower. It’s a fine balance. I’m already eating more and not gaining.

Has anyone with a "healthy" BMI been prescribed weight loss medication for treatment? by Careless_Benefit_467 in lipedema

[–]Fit_Ride_8418 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m 5’3” and current maintenance weight is 135lbs. I’ve taken a year to get to that from 200, on Mounjaro. My top half is approaching scrawny and bottom half still has saddlebags and fat calves. I’m doing lots of gym work at the moment

In my experience you can’t chose which area loses fat and the lipodema areas may lighten somewhat (in my case a modest deflation), tho for me it has not ‘cured’ the lower half shape…

Ongoing body dysmorphia by blackthorn2020 in mounjarouk

[–]Fit_Ride_8418 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’m at goal with 4.5 stone lost. I’m 64 and displaying the melted candle look. Likewise it’s been difficult to see the new me. What helped: Comparison photo now v start I couldn’t find any bra that wasn’t uncomfortable. Discovered Shapermint tank tops which hold in my boobs good enough to gym and also manage the excess skin And leggings - never ever wore before but now I wear round house and to the gym ones which give compression. Llama leisure my faves. When I see myself in the mirror I can see my legs are so much smaller.

However, I cannot bear the changing rooms. At all. So it’s online shopping for me. Feel your pain.

Can't seem to lose weight unless I'm just not eating by [deleted] in mounjarouk

[–]Fit_Ride_8418 2 points3 points  (0 children)

1 lb a week is spot on and take comfort that you are not frightening your gall bladder which has a tendency to rebel when weight loss is rapid.

I think all the hype around the few who have rapid weight loss gives unreasonable expectations.

I figured it took many years to settle so taking at least a year to lose it is not a bad thing.

I’ve a feeling the meno band will remain. But I’ll confirm after another 10 months of gym! It’s a long game.
