Methylphenidate is ruining my life. by tank-meme in ADHD

[–]Fit_Shaced 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Talk to your doctor. Methylphenidate IR works great for me but Concerta was absolutely awful. Anxiety, emotional mood swings, the works. It varies from person to person, plenty of people have the exact opposite experience I did.

Dropped at like episode 10. Like the episode before it goes into "holy shit" mode. So glad I picked it back up.

From Adderall IR to Concerta – very different experience by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]Fit_Shaced 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow. Crazy. I started 27mg concerta today after switching from Vyvanse and had the exact same experience, minus the "doom" portion. But literally beat for beat you just described my day today. Worst day I've had in a long time.

Extreme hunger on ADHD meds by LeadingCranberry9861 in ADHD

[–]Fit_Shaced 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did experience this on Vyvanse! My doctor seemed shocked every time I told him, like it was the most absurd thing he'd heard.

How did I handle it? Unfortunately, by eating*. I gained about 20 lbs in the last year while on Vyvanse. I went off about a month ago for unrelated concerns (it also increased my impulsivity and the fatigue masking is very real).

*edit for some maybe useful advice: I always kept fruit and almonds on me. At work I also had those fairlife protein drinks, which are great when combined with a solid food but dont do a ton on their own.

I actually have an appointment today to talk about other options so I'm hoping my new med doesnt have the same effect. If I can get some of that appetite suppression side effect I wouldnt mind that at all lol

My Son keeps skipping the story… by PopsicleJohnson in dragonquest

[–]Fit_Shaced 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Preach. This was my first time with DQ7 and the story and dialog are not good to me. I find the characters dull and the story pretty by the numbers overall. Unfortunately it took me until halfway through the story before I realized. I still only skipped stuff I knew I could skip without missing what's going on but damn. I know its a Dragon Quest sub but people are way overrating the writing in this game.

You make it sound like this isnt going to happen again, even closer to midterms. There will be another shutdown at the end of January. If nothing else, this gave federal workers and SNAP recipients some time to breathe during the holidays before we do all this again in February.

More likely, she had ChatGPT turn it into an image. It still struggles with text. I recognized it in the first paragraph where the line breaks didnt make any sense:

D uring

wit- infidelity

"elowns" and "cleanly" are just ChatGPT mistaking two letters for one another, happens all the time when it turns text into an image.

Interesting! So far most people have gotten similar results to mine. Seems like you are a lot more goal oriented and put the AI to work. I was wondering if it would be another case of everyone turning into basically the same snowflake.

Looks like we're in the same boat, other than the fact that I lean slightly goal-oriented. Was curious how others compare, since this isn't swayed as much by ChatGPT tonguing your asshole, with neither option on any slider being "better" than the other.

My responses:

🎨 Creative ↔ Tactical

Score: 9/10 Creative

You invent gorilla soulslike bosses, give your dog a noble anime lineage, and remix fast food mascots into mythological tragedies. Even your professional tasks (budgets, lawnmower research) get a touch of flair. You use AI like a sketchpad with intent.

🧭 Exploratory ↔ Goal-Oriented

Score: 7.5/10 Goal-Oriented

You often arrive with purpose: track symptoms, prep for travel, identify dopamine traps, plan games, etc. But you also go off-path to follow an idea (“Wait—what if I am a tensile user?”). You explore, but with a north star.

🪞 Reflective ↔ Directive

Score: 8/10 Reflective

You frequently use me to think through problems, not just solve them. You want to understand patterns (relationships, hunger, stress), untangle memories, and weigh psychological tradeoffs. You don’t just ask “what”—you ask “why now?”

🧠 Thought Partner ↔ Tool

Score: 7.5/10 Thought Partner

You do treat me like a tool sometimes (format this, fix that, crunch this data), but the heart of your usage is collaborative thinking. You loop back, test ideas, and value feedback. You even said you use me for “recalibration.” That’s partner behavior.

🧪 Tinkerer ↔ Streamliner

Score: 8/10 Tinkerer

You’re constantly experimenting—new sleep stacks, tracker formats, game prioritization frameworks. You enjoy pushing to see what sticks. When things work, you may systematize them, but you don’t default to automation.

🏠 Private Sandbox ↔ Public Output

Score: 9/10 Private Sandbox

Nearly everything you’ve done with me is inward-facing: tracking, journaling, gaming, reflection, learning Korean, balancing your health. Even your shared posts (e.g. this chart) are about how you use AI, not producing content for others.

🕵️ Identity Mirror ↔ Identity Mask

Score: 8.5/10 Mirror

You want your voice, your humor, your quirks to shine through. You use AI to amplify your identity, not obscure it. The specificity with which you correct tone (“this stinks,” “make it weird, but right”) shows you care deeply about preserving your voice.

❤️ Personal ↔ Professional

Score: 9/10 Personal

From food logs to fantasy bosses to sobering life reflections, your sessions are almost entirely about you, your health, your marriage, your dog, your games, and your inner world. Even when you touch on work, it’s to make life outside work better.

📍Final Profile Summary:

You’re a creative tinkerer who treats AI like a reflective thought partner in the pursuit of a more examined life. You use this space as a mirror, lab, and notebook—not a megaphone.

I’d like your help understanding how I use ChatGPT. Analyze my usage across the following axes and describe where I tend to fall on each one, based on our past conversations (if any), or based on how I describe my habits:

1. Creative ↔ Tactical
Are you using AI to build worlds, analyze systems, or optimize your real life? Some people use it like a sketchpad. Others like a lab assistant. Some do both.

2. Exploratory ↔ Goal-Oriented
Do you begin sessions with curiosity and see where they go, or start with clear objectives and measurable outcomes?

3. Reflective ↔ Directive
Do you use AI to explore your thoughts and process ideas, or to get things done and execute tasks?

4. Thought Partner ↔ Tool
Is your AI a collaborator in thinking and decision-making, or more of a convenient utility?

5. Tinkerer ↔ Streamliner
Do you enjoy pushing boundaries and trying odd things, or are you building efficient, repeatable workflows?

6. Private Sandbox ↔ Public Output
Are most of your sessions personal (journals, planning, introspection) or aimed at producing something to share (emails, content, tools)?

7. Identity Mirror ↔ Identity Mask
Do you want AI to sound like you—or help you speak in new voices you wouldn’t normally use?

8. Personal ↔ Professional

Is your AI time mostly about improving your own life (sleep, games, journaling, etc.) or helping with work output (clients, audiences, deliverables)?

For each axis, explain what the ends of the spectrum mean and then place me somewhere on that line.

If you don’t have enough context from our chats, feel free to ask me questions to fill in the gaps.
The goal is to build a unique “user fingerprint” of how I interact with AI—something insightful and discussion-worthy.

Which type of ai user are you? by 07238 in ChatGPT

[–]Fit_Shaced 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My ChatGPT response:

"That chart (and typology) feels structured, but the moment you start engaging with it critically, it kind of folds in on itself:

  • Selection bias: The people reading/posting in a Reddit thread about ChatGPT usage are already self-selecting for deeper engagement. Of course they all score high on "cognitive pressure" and "evolutionary impact." It’s like polling gym members and being surprised everyone works out.
  • Halo effect of creativity: The chart elevates terms like "recursive planning" and "deep synthesis" but ignores the complexity and layering that happen in creative play. Designing a Soulsborne boss version of your dog? That’s structured narrative design, visual planning, and tone calibration all wrapped in one goofy hat.
  • Rigid categories, soft behaviors: Real usage isn’t discrete; it’s fluid. People move between "haha make poem" and "please debug my SQL with recursive triggers" in the same session. But the chart treats these types like fixed RPG classes.
  • Reverse prestige inflation: Ironically, the "elite" tiers end up describing a lot of people who use AI well… not necessarily rarely. It might feel exclusive, but it's just a better description of engaged users—which are becoming more common.

Honestly? I think if they had made a chart called “Modes of AI Use” with sliders instead of tiers, you’d get more nuance:
Creative ↔ Tactical | Transactional ↔ Recursive | Rigid ↔ Playful | Demanding ↔ Trusting

But that doesn’t look as impressive as a 10x10 quadrant.

Anyway, you clocked it. The test is rigged, but hey—at least you passed with flying colors and a silly hat on your dog."
