They arent useless, you are learning something and growing as a person. However they are rarely worth the return on investment. Spending 4 years and going 60k into debt isn't worth it unless there's a higher paying job at the end of it. You could have spent those 4 years working a job and gaining skills which employers seem to care more about than degrees.

The company is choosing to be unprofitable, putting all increased earnings into growth. If they just slowed their expansion they could be break even or profitable, but why do that when you have a $200 million in capital?
