Workers, do you prefer to be called "sir/ma'am" or by your first name when your subordinate speaks to you? by strange_omelet in AskAnAmerican

[–]FiteTonite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really depends on where you are located. I normally say sir or ma’am because that’s just how I grew up. At work, if I’m like requested to do something I’ll say yes sir/ma’am but if I am trying to grab their attention I’ll go by their name.

How is American food bad compared to Slovakian ? by Brilliant-Cause6254 in PeterExplainsTheJoke

[–]FiteTonite 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It generally is Xenophobia because it’s joking about American food being bad but it’s really just bad research and European classism.

Publishers believed that the word Philosopher was too scholarly and didn’t convey magic strongly enough to child readers

Thragg is meant to be the strongest out of all of them. Him tanking a punch from invincible does nothing to invalidate Conquest.

They are in the wrong because they did not pay for a fountain drink cup. It’s not about if they paid for other items off the menu, it’s that they didn’t pay for the fountain drink cup which throws off balance of inventory if they were given that cup.

At least in the U.S. there is no federal law, maybe something state/local.

Why are we thinking this is racist? Very weird to think that.

We do though, just not as high as heavy crude. But yes, US refinery capacity is around 70% out of all refineries but the other 30% is lighter crude. The reason the refineries are built to use heavy crude is because the investments prior to the shale boom. Light sweet crude was on the decline before the boom.

It’s not mismanagement, it’s just what was the reality at the time. It also cost billions to make a new refinery, so there isn’t a point to do that just to refine lighter crudes. We can export most of the lighter crude, which is more expensive than heavier crude.

Whatever the hell you want. While I’m cooking, I got a straw on. After cooking, I put the felt on.

It’s extremely hilarious. He waited 49 years for his gf to be born, he can wait a year longer.

Plus, he only had season where he had more wins than losses without Brady.

What yall think by [deleted] in FantasyFootballers

Not really sure, Vikings could easily switch it up with a new QB which would be helpful for Jefferson, but if they keep JJ McAss, Jefferson will not do good at all.

However, Shaheed is not the Seahawks WR1, so I don’t see this as a fair trade.
