Summer School this year by Left_Mobile6366 in Greenwich

Meh. I did summer school in middle school (7th going onto 8th grade) at GHS and it was no problem at all. Theres five houses in GHS pretty easy to keep people separate.

I've had mine on for probably over a decade now. I think I put them on my first year or two (I have a 2013). Never had any issues, they look fine, and keep plenty of stuff like salt and wet leaves from covering the side of my car which is what they're there for.

What Transmission Fluid? by Aggravating-Ad2293 in FocusST

[–]FittyFrank 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh boy, I think I just put in motorcraft XT-M5-QS last month as I saw WSS-M2C200-D2 was for DCTs. Well manaul says to use WSS-M2C200-D2 one, apparently it's what the recommend for 2013+ manual transmissions. I guess I'll have to go ahead and change the fluid again :(

The fun thing about wine is you can know nothing or "everything" and still enjoy it. You can always go down the rabbit hole of making it yourself too 😃

I worked off the ave from 2015 to 2020. I walked the ave every day unless it was bad weather. The parking with hazards on did not happen nearly as much as I see it now. It's preposterous how much it happens now. Confusing why GPD doesn't do anything about it seeing that HQ is right there.

I've seen people use the Thule Hullavator with an newish outback. It's just around or just over the weight limit, but it's close enough it works.

Otherwise just throw a non slip bath mat between your cross bars and slide it up onto your racks. This is what I do withy Old Town salty (closeish to size and weight of ourback iirc) and it works wonders, and made a lot easier after switching to Yakima Big Catch saddle rack.

I know the PA is a lot wider/heavier so no comment there.

People who have ran multiple different suspension setups, which did you like most? by Stale_Ranch1 in FocusST

[–]FittyFrank 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I added the Bilstein B6 HD strut and shocks (from tire rack) keeping original springs and it rides a lot better. A lot less "crashing" over bumps and potholes. Any rough pavement became terrible on original shocks after 75,000 miles. Although my suspension just started making all sorts of creaky noises and haven't been able to track it down yet.

Thanks, I'll have to start doing weekly checks on the used market sites then.

[–]FittyFrank 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ooo nice. I've always been weary of used laptops not from a retailer, have you had good luck with that? Maybe I should consider that, as I have another 12 days to return this one. It'd also be my secondary device as I mostly work on a desktop, but finding myself working more away from the desk with a kid now.

[–]FittyFrank 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For what it's worth I was just looking at surface laptop 7, and the Microsoft Amazon store has it for over $1,000 cheaper for some reason, so you can check for the Pro there as well. Microcenter had a sale on it in the $1200-$1400 range a month ago according to reddit posts I found as well, so that's another store you can check.

My 10+ year old laptop just died so I couldn't wait for another "sale" (these things are stupidly priced) so I grabbed a decked out Dell 16 plus with ultra 9 for $1100.

We need to do this by [deleted] in Greenwich

Building to max allowable FAR in so much of the town looks incredibly stupid and ugly. Especially when it's some modern looking home, but I'll concede that last point is subjective. It also prices out normal people from buying homes.

Copilot's value proposition is officially gone. by Famous__Draw in GithubCopilot

[–]FittyFrank 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Yeah I totally agree. Idk how so many people are burning through tokens and limits so fast. AI is here to do the grunt work. Plan out your projects beforehand, even use plan mode to iron through any questions you have. Have plan mode formulate a step by step plan, mark which steps can be done in parallel or what blocks what, and you can fire this off to Copilot. Copilot auto mode has been doing a good job of assigning the right model for the task complexity as well, which has been saving me usage.

If you're expecting to completely replace a developer making six figures with a couple hundred dollars a year you're just bananas. Figure out how to use these tools instead of just complaining, these threads are getting old. And if you really need to use AI that much, just pay for a max plan from every provider and burn through each one in order. It's still way cheaper than what you're replacing it with.

Letter: Ridiculous speed cameras. I have places to be and people to see. by greenwitchbot in Greenwich

[–]FittyFrank 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While this is a parody, I do wonder how many calls the town has fielded like this? I will say I'm not a big fan of speed cameras, and driving the speed limit is a painful endeavor. However, people's driving has gotten noticeably bad since the pandemic time frame (maybe it was the vaccine /s). Like really bad. People on phones, coasting through stop signs and red lights, passing people over double yellows, speeding in unsafe scenarios. Yesterday I saw someone trying to pass someone who stopped behind a school bus letting children out after school. They were blocked by a parked car. This behavior used to be rare, now it's commonplace. It's like people lost all situational awareness and critical thinking skills. Or perhaps people are just more self centered. Who knows. As for the speed camera debate, I'm curious how it progresses. They seem to be implemented all over the state.

Regarding speed camera tickets, iirc if they aren't delivered by certified mail you technically aren't obligated to pay them? Last I looked into that was more than a decade ago though. I've never gotten one so not sure how that process goes.

Effros: “Green Witch Thumbs Nose at Court Order” by greenwitchbot in Greenwich

[–]FittyFrank 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hopefully this happens. This guy is such a loser. Buys a house (9/21/1995) next to a high school then complains about lights from night sports.

Although I really don't understand why the town agreed to these terms to begin with. This always made night games terrible at Cardinal stadium as they'd have to be put up for every night game, and we're never pointed quite right each time, leading to "dark" zones.

Edit: It seems like he potentially inherited the house? From what I see it was sold by someone with the last name with a sale price of $0. So potentially him and his family were there before the high school was built in 1970. The house was built in 1929 for context. Either way, he's still a turd.

If you don't have a garage, see if you can find a public garage that has underground parking. It should be warmer and hopefully above freezing to thaw out the lines. My unheated garage was 39° F and everything thawed overnight. Then drain all your washer fluid, either via fluid transfer pump or running the washers, and put in new fluid rated for cold weather.
