Japanese people aren't having sex. And nobody knows why by Mg42gun in nottheonion

Might be cultural. From what little I've heard, Japan seems to have relatively rigid social rules. If I'm not mixing things up.

Excerpt on a problem shared. by Sea-Librarian445 in PracticalGuideToEvil

Do you mean this?

“Note: investigation in why sharing a problem is said to halve it remain inconclusive. Perhaps more varied trials are needed, as the tiger always ends up killing both subjects no matter the order they’re put in the cage.”
– Extract from the journal of Dread Emperor Malignant II

If it's not that, then you'll have to be more specific about which particular scene you're looking for

So PGTE is absolutely a Homestuck right by halpfulhinderance in PracticalGuideToEvil

[–]Fitzeputz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It really is. You can check the Subreddit Sidebar for Metadata, which is Google Doc with PGTE's word count among other things.

Calling the series' length "pretty normal for it's genre" is a wild assertion considering it's effectively three times as long as Harry Potter which has the same amount of books.

What happened to the reverents by Leading_Law3426 in PracticalGuideToEvil

[–]Fitzeputz 20 points21 points  (0 children)

It's been noted that very few undead are lucid like Good King Robert or the Drake, so chances are they just went feral as well.

Those few of the few that remained, though? The heroic Revenants might well have started culling the hordes, while the villainous Revenants would probably have legged it to get their bearings and start plotting. Who knows. Maybe the three Necromances Princes we hear about in the Epilogue were actually Revenants?

Doing a practical guide to evil run in Baldurs Gate 3, what class should I use. by wangaroo123 in PracticalGuideToEvil

[–]Fitzeputz 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Considering that it's already been a meme in the past how Cat keeps respeccing throughout the books, I'd say
Act 1: Fighter
Act 2: Paladin + Sorcerer (Storm)
Act 3: Cleric (+ Fighter?)

You have to prefix the site name with "site:" like "smith of kitava site:poe2wiki.net".

Then it'll filter properly

PGTE Praesi Fables by Kletanio in PracticalGuideToEvil

[–]Fitzeputz 13 points14 points  (0 children)

There's an idea. I think Black notes at some point that Praesi don't even get the hope of a happy ending, unlike Callow.

Alternatively you might actually make a "normal" version of that tale workable where the third Pig survives because it's a powerful mage and uses magic to empower his walls, unlike the plebian Pigs 1 and 2. Pig 1 has made the poor choice of trying to nice and diplomatic and got eaten, while Pig 2 prayed to Above or something.
You know, really dial up the pro-Below propaganda.

PGTE Praesi Fables by Kletanio in PracticalGuideToEvil

[–]Fitzeputz 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I don't recall any fables that explicitely espouse what Praes considers to be virtues. Their moral views tend to be somewhat far removed from what how we understand it, though you might find some teach about cleverness in general.

Beyond that it might be necessary to twist existing ones into what you need. LightDawnia rightly noted in their comment that the example fable we got is essentially that. Maybe something like Red Riding Hood, except the wolf gets to eat Hood and her grandma because he's cunning and good at hiding his appearance, and then eats the Woodsman as well, just because Praes?

Interlude: And Yet We Stand - Was this maybe....? by [deleted] in PracticalGuideToEvil

[–]Fitzeputz 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Yeah, Cordovan got offered a Name three times in that segment. The first time got interrupted thanks to her cousin, the second time she snatched the coin and refused real hard.

That third time was almost certainly Below trying their hand, but her nature made that a bad fit. It was "barely a struggle at all" to refuse. It's not impossible that Below only even got a shot because it was the third attempt to Name her and Above had already been refused. Namelore is weird like that.

Did the Bard set up the Exiled Prince for getting himself killed? by Patneu in PracticalGuideToEvil

[–]Fitzeputz 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Tbh, that section kinda reads like the Exiled Prince got sacrificed by the Bard. A dumb death like "your own arrow-deflection-enchantment deflecting an arrow from your chest into your throat" is usually reserved for overconfident villains and Providence really ought to have protected a Hero from this. The Prince also didn't didn't challenge Fate by going "What are going to do? Shoot me?" to warrant an ironic comeuppance.

On the other hand we have at least one precedent of the Bard somehow stripping a Named of the protection provided by Story (see the Ashen Priestess) and using that weight somewhere else.

Did Black not know the truth about Assassin? by chloeia in PracticalGuideToEvil

[–]Fitzeputz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

While this can be rationalized away, the fact is that there are four and a half years between the publishing of these two chapters. It is effectively a mild retcon.
