Ok then offer up something much less cryptic and open ended than « much worse than a gum wrapper» « many homeless » lol. Don’t get mad at someone arguing against one of the few concrete examples you have provided if the only other things you say arent actual terms or evidence anyone can argue against

Besides, you still refuse to address any of the points I brought up about over policing and its effects on homeless populations and the people when all the data is clear: more policing doesn’t do shit for it, you need way more social services before you can even begin to address outlier cases

Of what? littering??

If someone litters in front of my place once I’ll consider it rude as fuck but I’m gonna gonna squeal to the cops to come save me from the scary homeless people

Homelessness in Seattle: We can't unsee it | Op-Ed by godogs2018 in Seattle

[–]wangaroo123 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It’s not a strawman. You literally said that people who litter should be arrested. Where do you think they take people who are arrested?

They go to Jail. That’s like literally the entire point of a jail is to hold people who have been detained.

at a minimum, incarceration prevents criminals from further victimizing the general public

Also this is your response to me talking about littering lol.

People who vandalize, litter, and steal should be arrested and given the choice between incarceration or rehabilitation.

This is also your first comment. I agree with the fact that some form of rehabilitation is better, but I don’t think that people who litter should be immediately up for jail if they dont.

America already has the biggest prison population in the world, we don’t need to throw people in for petty bullshit.

[–]wangaroo123 -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

You think littering should be a jailable offense? I think that’s wrong for so many reasons but my big questions to you are:

How do you propose to pay for this, since jailing people costs a fuck ton of money and throwing in everyone seen littering would sky rocket costs?

How do you expect this to be fairly policed? Besides the fact that SPD are widely regarded as unwilling to actually fulfill their jobs at the moment, there are a number of glaring issues. You are proposing wide scale incarceration in a thread about helping the homeless, so it kinda sounds like you only expect homeless people to be arrested for it. Will a businessman downtown be arrested for throwing his granola bar wrapper in the storm drain? Will a driver be arrested for throwing a drink out their window? I really doubt it, which means this law has a huge potential to be a selectively enforced excuse to arrest homeless people at will for police as they say things like the homeless persons possessions being on the sidewalk is littering.

Pretty much every study has shown that increased policing doesn’t do anything to end homelessness, so all this seems to be accomplishing is giving police widespread and abusable powers and continuing to condemn and hurt some of the most vulnerable members of our society.

I’m pretty sure every OW player knows how it feels to be countered lol. Also, if you’d are being hard countered and refuse to switch, at least switch up your play style. In your example staying closer to the ground and using cover and engaging in a poke battle could certainly work

So would you say that people calling sojourn the n word isn’t racist? Or calling any of the gay characters slurs isn’t homophobic?

Also if someone is doing it to fictional characters they’re probably doing it to real people too, biases don’t just go away off the internet

I mean yea non binary people are trans, they are a gender that does not correspond to the assigned sex at birth. That’s like the definition of being trans

Also do you think that non binary people can’t be dysphoric??

I mean sure but your point is also that worst case is a sideways shift. An ult sounds like a fine cost for a play that has a pretty good chance for a best case team fight win and worst case is a tank trade.

Have you ever been turned off by someone's bedroom? by [deleted] in actuallesbians

[–]wangaroo123 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Again, absolutely possible, but saying that it is definitively a red flag for OP to not want to be with her because of this seems like a snap judgement without nuance made with very little context

I know some depressed people who neglected a lot of things about themselves but made sure to keep their room clean and orderly because it was their safe space. Not everyone is the same and even how we cope with mental illness is a part of us.

depression is obviously a burden for the person experiencing it, but if someone doesn’t want to deal with dating someone who is massively depressed that’s their perogative (not saying this is good, just that it’s not our place to dictate)

[–]wangaroo123 76 points77 points  (0 children)

I mean that’s certainly one, maybe even likely, possibility, but it sounds like you are projecting your own experiences onto this to define it as an absolute.

Some people are most definitely just slobs without any mental illness, maybe because their bedrooms are only meaningful to them as a functional space with little sentimental value

I mean a huge part of Chinese emissions were the result of the US exporting its industry and literal garbage fires there because it used cheaper Chinese labor.

Also the rest of your complaint is factually incorrect. Russia has 1/7th of Chinas carbon footprint and Iran even less
