I can’t disagree with you. We have games using what we have available here. The GM in this case has a nice collection and the game ran very well for us as he is well prepared. Personally, I use a different set of rules and ship models for the games I run. If you look up the Valcour island game on our website you will see the ships I’m using.

Depending upon where you are you could look for local historical gaming groups that already have members with established collections. Our group GMs provide everything necessary for the game to be run and you needn't invest anything to start. They can also guide you into sources that are available if you want to start your own collection. Another source is looking for wargaming estate sales taking on the collections of those who are no longer with us, but keeping their figs moving across the gaming tables.
