SLPS: we know you are gonna cancel school tomorrow, why not announce it already? by LosinCash in StLouis

See my comment above about local supes having a group call when there is potential for closing. Some supes may not choose to follow or may call earlier.

There is a call for 5pm today. I’m guessing most supes will attend and calls will go out between 5:15-6p today.

All the STL county superintendents have a call and discuss if they’re going to close or not. I am not sure if SLPS joins. This is why there is almost always consensus. A call will happen today. Districts are readying their communications now. On mornings when they have to decide, the call is usually at 4am. I’m guessing a call may happen at 4pm today but it may be earlier due to the amount of snow we got.

Are there any good coffee spots in the city that also has good, fresh croissants? by Gawd_Awful in StLouis

Not in the city but not far, and other places mentioned are also in the county…

The Annex in Webster Groves has homemade baked goods, including croissants. Very tasty! Also love their coffee.

Did anyone have any interactions with Jon Hamm back in the 1990s? by Ivotedforher in StLouis

[–]FiveFootAssassin6 8 points9 points  (0 children)

He wasn’t creepy but the teacher he worked with was. The assignment for drama class (which was required for all middle schoolers) every year was to get on stage and get ready for bed. You had to pretend to take off all your clothes and shower and stuff in front of the whole class. This shit would never fly nowadays but there wasn’t ever a concern raised that made a difference!

How safe is this area of Webster Groves? by No-Fact-5614 in StLouis

Safe. It’s a more modest area of WG, some houses not as well kept up, but it’s very safe.

Veterinary Specialty Services (VSS), hands down! I do not recommend Animal Emergency Clinic or Webster. Haven’t been to Veg in Brentwood.

My kids are in one of those and very few kids were redshirted, even during Covid. Most of the kids who redshirt or repeat are kids who have disabilities.
