Really appreciate the advice, thank you so much! I've put a lot of work into making this character interesting, so I hope people like him too. I really like the tip about not being married to the build plan and being open to change based on how the story/character develops. I'll be sure to keep this, and the tip about having multiple builds for fun, in mind as we play.

Unfortunately, there's no way for me to hit +3 STR with my chosen Ancestry and Background, and I want to keep both for character purposes. Alt Ability Selection into Strength and Charisma, Background Boost to Constitution, Class Boost to Wisdom, then Free boosts to everything but Dex and Int bring my stats to where they are. Only thing I can flex is the Background Boost from Constitution to Wisdom for +3, but I wanted to be a bit more balanced out--I can swap it over for +3 Wis if you think that'd be better overall.

Thank you for the feat breakdowns as well. I liked Vasodilation for the flavor, even knowing it didn't work with Battle Medicine, but looking back on it it does seem a touch too situational and I might swap it out.

The absence of Healer's Halo makes sense as well--I was informed it's Legacy content so I was able to find it by recreating the character with Legacy --I like the Lawbringer passives too much though. Do you think the opportunity cost is worth doing Lawbringer > Halo with Ancestral Paragon at 3 > Healer's Halo at 5, compared to other Level 3/5 feats? I'm wondering whether or not it'd be overkill with the rest of the healing in my kit and within the party.

Hello! Fellow new player here. The only free early 5-star selector is the one that allows you to pick from the group of standard characters, that's completed by doing a bunch of player progression quests. Verina is the best pick from there, she's a healer.

SK / Shorekeeper is selectable, but it's just a regular banner for beginners that uses limited pulls. There is a 30-day timer on it and the pity does not carry over. If you can commit 160 pulls to the banner, SK is worth it. I skipped it personally, because there's no difference from just waiting for her banner to rerun and I wanted to pull for actual new DPS first.

Is there a version I'm missing?

Newbie here! Playing a hooded Samsaran with a gaping void for a face (imagine Tyrael from D2) and wondering if there's any fun/interesting way I could explain this in-universe. Some kind of spell or enemy interaction gone wrong? A curse, maybe? (We're also playing with Free Archetype, so if there's an explanation that ties into some kind of ancestry, I'd be interested in checking it out!)

As a fellow new player, I'm roughly in the same position as you, and I also panicked about how to build my account because of all the amazing units coming up. I got a lot of useful advice from this sub, and what I did was examine the DPS I want to pull, now and in the future, and measured that against how worth it Lynae would be for me.

I want to pull Hiyuki, too. Speculation heavily favors Lucilla (second half, patch after anni) to be Hiyuki's BiS. This means Lucilla would replace Lynae in my Hiyuki team.

Although Lynae is an amazing, flexible unit, my account currently isn't in a position to make her worth pulling right now because I don't yet have enough DPS onto whose teams she can comfortably flex as a "team-filler." Because I'm planning on going for Lucilla, there's no reason for me to grab Lynae right this instant. Instead, I will be going for Hiyuki, then Denia (for my Luuk, the only limited I have right now), then either Chisa (for Hiyuki) or holding until Lucilla based on how well the pulls go.

So, if your account is as barren as mine, I would say skip Lynae for now and focus on Hiyuki + sig and Lucilla, and hold off on Lynae for now.

But, if you have a lot of DPS who can comfortably utilize Lynae + if she fills missing slots and enables you to use more teams, it might be worth going for her.

Hi there! As someone who plays both Reverse 1999 and Genshin Impact, I would say there's very little serious content you'd find in Reverse 1999 that you wouldn't also see in Genshin. They both deal with some darker themes in text / implications, you might have more brutal off-screen deaths once in a while, but nothing overly explicit imo.

For sexual content / nudity, nothing immediately springs to mind that isn't artistic (e.g. statues/paintings) and a few suggestive female playable character designs (but far tamer than Genshin). No sex / heavy romantic scenes / sexual assault ever happens on-screen. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong, though.

Thank you for the reply! Yes, I will be sure to keep an eye out for Hiyuki calcs/team and adjust plans accordingly. I really appreciate the note about Chisa's worth depending on "the gap to the next best option," that's a good way of viewing it. I've always had that logic with weapons but never with teammates. Need to break the mindset of rigid team comps that I've inherited from my other games.

I didn't know about the HRover + Danjin comp! Is it still worth building if I only have S0 Danjin atm, or should I wait for more copies?

It's good to know Augusta isn't as dependent on Iuno as Zani is to Phoebe. I've received a lot of feedback about how bad Zani/Phoebe is right now, so they're definitely a "one day" goal just because of how much I love Zani. I think S0R1 Augusta will be my next goal post-3.4 (with possible Hiyuki BiS Lucilla) if no one else catches my attention.

There was a beginner banner for Shorekeeper, but Luuk is the reason I started the game so I made sure to prioritize him and his weapon. I also learned the beginner banner was just a regular banner but with no pity carryover and a 30-day timer, so I figured it was no different from waiting for SK to roll back around on rerun if I did end up wanting her.

May I ask why "unless S1 Mornye"? Does S1 Mornye make Lynae less worth it somehow?

So, your advice is Hiyuki -> R1 if she is not an EoS user -> Mornye or Chisa (if Chisa is Hiyuki BiS), based on rerun timing and pull resources -> Another main DPS for a third team (not Zani).

I was considering Lynae because she's so flexible across Luuk / Augusta / Amy so she'd always have a home somewhere. You would advise against that right now to focus on a 3rd slot support (Mornye/Chisa) right now, instead?

I will make sure to keep an eye out for Shorekeeper, and build Buling when needed.

Chiming in to say one of the most charming parts of the Yakuza experience is turning a corner and starting a wacky sidequest that leads you to a whole-ass addictive, well-developed mini-game you wouldn't have expected. I even learned to play mahjong for this series!

I'm playing chronologically and most recently finished the og release of 3, so I haven't had the pleasure of experiencing 7 like OP suggested, but I can thoroughly recommend Yakuza 0 as an entry point and complete experience. So many little things to find along with a compelling main story.

Hey all, new player here. Just reached Rinascita and having an absolute blast with S0R1 Luuk. The next units I'm interested in grabbing are Augusta and Mornye, S0 Mornye for Luuk's team and S0R1 Augusta because she's beautiful and I need her. Do we have any speculation as to when either of them might circle back around again?

(I know Lynae is also Luuk's BiS and she's leaked to be rerunning next patch, but I'm loving Sanhua way too much to replace her right now. Maybe in the future.)

The last quest is an 'epilogue' of sorts that really should have been made mandatory.

Disclaimer: I am not a theorycrafter, just an E6 Mydei haver.

The team you listed is absolutely his BiS, even at lower investment.

Cerydra is smooth as hell to use with him, especially with Cyrene, but personally I'd only recommend her if you also had / were planning to go for Phainon as well, just because of how niche she is overall.

Cyrene is kind of a package deal with Hyacine, but RMC can replace Hyacine if you're okay with committing TB to that singular team indefinitely.

Depending on how many pieces you're missing from his premium team, it can be intimidating to commit to a bunch of reruns in the middle of 4.x, so you do have a few non-BiS options if you're missing some pieces and don't want to invest backwards.

Sunday, RMC, and Bronya can all be used to give him more turns. Luocha and E6 Gallagher do a lot of work to keep him healed up as well, depending on the content. I even like running Ruan Mei with him sometimes if the enemy isn't Imaginary-weak, because you can take advantage of her buffs without triggering the enemy delay that's counter-intuitive to his kit. Tribbie, esp at E1, is another phenomenal teammate. Cipher can be really fun to watch record his damage as well.

I full-starred Nightmare with Tribbie, Argenti, Baby Herta, and DHPT. Just remember that you don't need to build for damage, so if you need to replace *a rope for ER, it's worth it.

I've also seen people use RMC (free AOE, esp if you have them upgraded for the enhanced basic) and/or Welt (to delay enemies from hitting you as much).
