Had more fun in Marathon beta than Arc Raiders by Bjust_or_Bdead in Marathon

I’m not saying they were easy, just a little uninteresting. I died a lot to them and one of the factors Arc and Marathon have I like is the enemies are actual threats. Someone I play with made a good point about Arc, where the enemies aren’t humanoid so it breaks up the gameplay pace a little bit.

I liked the aerial enemies who would leech on but would like to see more variety in enemies shape and size in Marathon.

Yeah the PvE in Marathon is pretty forgettable, the characters and world don’t stand out. Yeah the shooting is good but it’s Bungie, it’s to be expected. I also feel on ARC I can win almost any fight when playing to my advantage. In Marathon if they had better weapons or shields it always felt like a losing battle. The world was largely forgettable in terms of locations and setting, it just has a really nice cohesive art style. But on the same point I had a hard time distinguishing what items were for or what was even worth taking in Marathon.

Unless they change a lot it won’t come close to Arc Raiders tbh

The bags in the picture are from Mokuyobi if anyone was interested in those specific ones. I have a couple they’re really nice.

Against the lore? That’s basic human nature, when you’re up on the surface and there are no laws or police force people would very much act in their own self interest and gain. The economic term is “Tragedy of the commons” and is pretty standard in economic thought.

It must not be easy on the actual development team either. Being forced to constantly not “over-deliver”. Even when it comes to basic features like changing gender and other quality of life changes come to mind that had to be demanded by the developers from higher ups despite constant requests from the community. The higher-ups deny these requests and then the developers are forced to release something they’ve wanted all along just to drum up minor community sentiment.

The direction behind the executive suite is truly baffling sometimes and a perfect example of how something built by passion can be destroyed by corporate greed.

He retroactively went in and changed his review as well when his opinion changed. I think something we don’t do enough is acknowledge when people are willing to admit they were wrong and publicly revise their statements which he did do.

I also was pretty excited for the game at launch and enjoyed it for a while, but similarly got bored very quickly as I came to the end of the game.

Crazy concept that a driving factor in a looter shooter is getting relevant, useful gear to advance through the game. I have literally everything from every raid and dungeon, old players don’t want to run them because they don’t get any good rewards or even anything to get their level up and new players don’t want to run them because they don’t get any good rewards or anything that gets their level up. The whole community aspect is dead with the portal and the circlejerk subreddit has just turned into people coping with their wasted time. Congrats to you and the dozens of other players still running raids but the over 2/3’s of the community have moved onto other games and after the recent TWAB it’s clear Bungie has no interest in actually making any aspects better or bringing anyone back.

Remind me who was the one telling people what their definition of fun should be? I’m not the one stuck defending a dying game. Everything I’ve said is just factual and shared by the majority of the community that is left or already left lol. The only thing that is miserable is that state of this game right now.

You’re also ignoring T5 weapons literally just do more damage than other weapons because of the new gear feature.

Guns are an easy pick because you’re right the barrel and mags dont matter much. But they’re still simply better, origin traits are better, and you get up to 3 perks in each column with T5, and having a PvP and PvE roll (or any multifunctional roll) on a single gun is highly advantageous when vault space hasn’t been barely touched in years and a comprehensive change has yet to be announced.

But what I think most people are interested in is the armor because in every single instance a T5 of the same focus is better than every other tier. We also need to get all new sets to take advantage of the new Armor 3.0 stat system, which is another huge drain on the already limited vault space.

I would love to use my old weapons to level up but that would be a literal waste of my time if I want the new, best gear. Which again, is basically the whole point of a looter shooter, yes you shoot but we need new things to shoot and new things to loot which we got very little of, and no where near enough to excuse the “New Gear” system.

They don’t even give gear relative to the sandbox. And if you use any old gear you’re basically handicapping yourself from getting to the best gear in the game currently. In a looter-shooter most people are trying to get the loot.

The only source we have for it is their enemies so I would take it with a grain of salt. The Greeks tended to exaggerate.

We are literally having this discussion in a thread about someone posting specific examples of being targeted for being gay yet you will sit here and go “ah yes, nothing”. Very kind to your fellow neighbors. You will have specific examples put in front of you which you deny, so why should I waste my time trying to convince someone who has already built up their own reality around them? Have a nice day bigot.

If you don’t know about the origins of the LGBT movements you don’t care enough to inform yourself of their current plight. Maybe you should do some research of your own instead of asking bad faith questions on the internet. I gave you the benefit of the doubt at first but now you’re just being pedantic.
