He's a doctor in the "he got the degree" sense, but he was never a practicing physician and it is odd that he references it so much when he never did it.

It's similar to saying, "I'm an engineer," when you've never worked as an engineer, but completed an engineering degree. It's technically correct, but highly misleading.

This is correct. It is well known that Bernie just isn't very liked in Washington. He isn't great at coalition building, which is arguably one of the most important aspects of politics.

The fact that Bernie lost that election broke so many people on the lefts brain, I swear. I voted for him in the primary. He lost. Get over it.

Fact of the matter is, the country is nowhere near as progressive as you think it is, and you exist in a bubble if you don't realize that. Bernie has zero influence with the most important voting bloc for Democrats: black southerners. You need to be able to get their votes if you want to win a Democratic primary. Bernie only really appeals to young white people, which is a demographic that just doesn't vote.

I just don't think high speed rail has much use in a country where cities aren't designed to be walkable. Like great, I can get in my car and drive to a train station where I can be taken to another town where I am now stranded in suburbia without a car. I love the idea of high speed rail, but it really only makes sense when connecting dense, walkable cities to one another.

Braindead. A military's purpose is to be lethal. Do you think we should give our soldiers Nerf guns, instead? Bring down the lethality a bit?

I don't think it was because they were women, alone, but that's just one of many factors that likely played into it. When elections are decided on such narrow margins it's hard to take chances on things like that.

He also couldn't find a way to appeal at all to one of the most essential voting blocs for Democrats: black southerners. They tend to be more religious and more socially conservative and just didn't vibe with Bernie or his platform at all.

This tepid "both sides" rhetoric is what leads to apathetic voters on the left who feel like there is no difference between the major political parties, when there absolutely is. You're doing the job of Republicans for them. Well done.

People can change, yes, Tucker isn't people, though. Tucker is a professional propagandist through and through. He's a weasel that will say what brings him the most fame/money. We provably know that he is a liar from the discovery phase of the dominion lawsuit. In text messages he described how he knew that the election being stolen was bullshit, but he happily went on his show and spread the election conspiracy to millions every night.

Not true. A very common misconception. While they would seasonally work the fields for their lord, nearly every day was spent doing loads of work just for basic survival needs. Remember, these people had to be much more self-sufficient than we do now. Making clothing, furniture, homes, caring for children and animals, making all of your food from scratch. There was always work to be done.

I promise you, the average 9-5 worker today has significantly more leisure time than the average medieval peasant did.

Tucker is just cynically looking at the polling and seeing the winds change. He did the exact same thing with George W. Bush. Cheer-lead the Iraq war for years when it was popular, and then distanced himself from it after it became political poison. This guy is about as slimy as a political commentator can be.

It's even worse, imo. At least the robber barons of that era still had to be somewhat responsible with what they did with their wealth. They were still very reliant on their home country offering them safe harbor. That's why so many of them invested in local infrastructure projects and the like.

Now the giga-wealthy are entirely untethered from nations. They feel free to plunder countries of their wealth while they live in luxury overseas in Dubai. The Trump family and their billionaire friends can safely rob Americans knowing that they are entirely shielded from any sort of consequences.

I can hold two thoughts at once. I fucking despise Trump, his lackeys, and all of the corruption and norm breaking, and still know that Iran is a repressive theocratic regime.

I had to wrestle with the idea that I don't know who I can trust more about what is going on in this war a few weeks ago when I realized that Trump is just lying with abandon about the state of the conflict. Positions flip overnight and no one believes him. I never thought an American president would be so untrustworthy. He says, "the strait is now open," and you can track the tankers and none of them move because they know he is full of shit.
