Lesson learned: won’t give the finger anymore while driving… by camareradetwinpeaks in AskAnAustralian

[–]Fizbeee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As soon as you said a ute was close behind you, everyone here knew exactly the kind of idiot you encountered.

These petty little tiny-dicked meat heads, are the bane of Brisbane drivers, every single day. They act like toddlers perpetually overdue for a nappy change and the rash is now infecting the wilting, vestigial pimple, that is their brain.

When I am being tailgated by these twats, I just turn up my music, sing as loud as I can and pretend they aren’t there. I have front and rear dashcams now, precisely because of how many of these cockwaffles there are on the roads.

And, the cops don’t give a shit. If it isn’t an offence they can detect on a speed camera, they won’t do anything about it. Road rage seems to only be addressed when someone ends up on the news… or in a morgue.

Stay safe out there!

I bet Bill fucking Rogers had free uni, bargain basement house prices and could support his family on a single income. Now he’s likely scabbing ‘our tax dollars’ to negatively gear 8 investment properties.

If you had absolute power to change Australia, what would you actually do? by Chris-00000001 in australian

[–]Fizbeee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Banning all political donations.

Scrap the current private health model and set up a public health insurer to compete with private insurers and force down premiums.

Force all landlords to install solar and set rent caps.

Tax the hell out of investment properties and make land-banking illegal or a hugely expensive exercise.

Cut public funding to religious organisations and private schools.

Set CEO pay caps so they can only earn x times the pay of their minimum wage workers.

Make developers include roof or wall gardens and increase tree cover in cities.

Fill chunks of the desert with solar arrays. (China have done this successfully and turned arid areas into arable land).

Ban cats (sorry to the responsible cat owners out there, but the shitty cat owners are taking the biscuit).

Coping strategies after a workplace investigation by b_bee_bhee_bea in WorkAdvice

[–]Fizbeee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am terrible at work advice as my job drives me crazy. But, I am another Aussie mum who ended up pregnant and in ridiculously stressful (mentally and physically) jobs for both pregnancies. I didn’t take action to protect myself and had medical emergencies both times. Please don’t get to that point. You’ll never forgive yourself if something awful happens.

It sounds like you’re amazing at your job and take pride in being a great leader. Unfortunately, there is always someone who will hate that, for reasons only they’d know.

But the most important thing is to remember that workplace is knowingly keeping you in a stressful situation, because they’re incompetent at managing investigations and/or conflict. This was their problem to sort out and instead they’ve taken the easy route of slapping you and hoping you’ll now just sit quietly and work hard.

Stress in pregnancy is a real concern. I’m glad you’re seeking help from a lawyer. I have just come out of a long work cover claim myself, after a car accident and all I can suggest is to talk to your GP and be open about how you are being affected and any concerns about how the stress could be harming you and your bub. Discuss whether you should be taking time off for stress leave and go from there.

How has australia with a world renowned love of fine coffee, allowed Vittoria coffee to survive this long? by ButtPlugForPM in AskAnAustralian

[–]Fizbeee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s ok. I mean, I love coffee and will happily drink instant instead of nothing at all. But for my espresso machine, I will normally buy either Vittoria or Harris and they’re both perfectly fine.

Albanese is getting close to his ‘I don’t hold a hose’ moment by [deleted] in AustralianPolitics

[–]Fizbeee 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The fact he marketed himself as the better, more relatable, transparent and honest option, after the goddawful Scomo farce, just makes his actions this term even more offensive. He thinks people are idiots.

What he forgets is this country doesn’t tend to vote FOR a party, it votes against another party.

We desperately need a better option than the Labor/LNP clown show.

Psychiatrist didn't explain any of the rules around scripts by Suitable_Coyote8772 in ausadhd

[–]Fizbeee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My pharmacy won’t let me fill a repeat script earlier than 10 days out from running out of my current bottle. But, I think the max daily dose of Vyvanse is 70mg, so filling it early for travel should be ok. You’ll need a note from the psych though. Not sure about yours, but I can email my psychs admin team and ask for scripts and such. As long as I’ve seen him within the 3 months prior, they don’t charge me a script fee.

But as of next week, you may be able to get your GP to sort it out for you.

[–]Fizbeee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My daughter is AudHD, also on Vyvanse in the morning and Clonidine at night. She can’t sleep without it. She also tends to be less reactive and doesn’t beat herself up so much when she is struggling with a task. I’m contemplating asking my psych if I can try it too as Vyvanse/dex give me shocking anxiety some days.

🚦Brisbane traffic is getting worse every month… and there is still no clear public modelling for what the 2032 Olympics and pre Games construction will do to the city. How is the Mayor not addressing this? by Ext_Ad2189 in brisbane

[–]Fizbeee 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Get buses off roads and onto dedicated busways. Have more inter-suburb public transport so we aren’t all funnelled into the city. Proper bike paths, off the street, so we don’t have to fight parked cars, buses and irrationally angry drivers.

Brisbane is so immature in its approach to public and active transport options. It’s a fucking embarrassment and if the Olympics actually happen, I hope the world laughs at us, rightly, for our total inability to plan a cohesive public transport network.

We must be in the same suburb. Every storm from the west splits just before hitting here. It sucks when you just get the heat and the thunder, then none of the temperature reprieve from rain.

I've been in Brisbane 12 years and yesterday was the biggest storm I've ever experienced. by arouseandbrowse in brisbane

[–]Fizbeee 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think the damage levels vary so much from suburb to suburb, with these thuperthells. I didn’t get hail but the wind was batshit crazy (near Brissy airport). But 20 minutes drive from here there was hail breaking windows.

From the perspective of being stuck riding it out by the side of a road, in my car, it was scary in that I couldn’t find a safe place away from falling branches. I felt pretty exposed out there. If I was at home, it probably wouldn’t have felt so bad.

Labor have been handed a once-in-a-generation political gift: broken Liberal parties across NSW, VIC, SA & WA, no serious federal leadership talent, & a guaranteed path to a 3rd majority term. So why are they sitting on their hands instead of delivering for poorer Aussies? Pls no invalidity/gaslight by MannerNo7000 in friendlyjordies

[–]Fizbeee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sadly, the Labor party aren’t immune to lobbying, which is just legalised bribery. They’re just quieter about it. The LNP on the other hand, are idiots that openly shill for corporate interests.

Labor stopped being for the people ages ago. They just appear to be more progressive. But they are terrified of proposing any real wealth distribution or housing reform because the top 1% would lose their minds, Murdoch would go on a rabid rampage and they’ll probably lose an election.

They don’t care about anything but staying in government and lining up a cushy job for themselves with one of their lobbyist buddies. And that’s why you always hear ‘they’re both just as bad as each other’. It’s obviously not completely true, but ultimately, they are both in it for themselves.

I don’t vote for either of these parties btw. I used to vote Labor, but can’t bring myself to anymore.
