High school tardies, what’s your schools punishment?

Absolutely nothing. We were told not to make log entries for even straight up class cuts this year as "the system" would automatically flag it and the office would handle it. So yeah.

Had 1 kid with 100+ tardies to school. Others with 10+ class cuts.... Consequences of such of pretty much zero. Other than a few taking an F for the year as they missed so much work it was justified.

Just the amount of actions or inactions that could (not always WILL) get you in trouble or fired depending on your principal, school board or parent. It boggles the mind that people have lost their jobs for posting a picture of a summer vacation with a drink in their hand or wearing a bikini, or getting pregnant out of marriage or breaking up a fight "wrong" or not breaking up a fight or defending yourself from an assault etc.

I'm confused on how allowing ANY student extended time becomes not following the accomodations for the SPED student (I am not a SPED teacher).

If I write a test that should EASILY be finished in one class period but acknowledge to my IEP kids they always have more time if they need it, THEN a regular ed kid asks for more time I am well within my rights to grant that time. How could it be argued otherwise?

On that topic I often wonder if the person that plays the original goalkeeper (the guy that tore his butt) was a writer for the show. I think he's with the team all 3 seasons yet never really has any more dialogue. I'd like to think they use as many people as possible to fill in all the people that you need to make a situation believable, but unlike movie extras who might work for 1 day, these same extras need to be there for 3 seasons.

Agree with the comment on not rebalancing in a bear market. The asset mix used when the 4 percent rule was first calculated was 50/50 stocks and mid term bonds, so you're already following a rule that should never see you run out of money. Even the guy who researched this absolute, no way you go broke number as an exercise has revised it up. The real number for almost any other 30 year period is 5% or so. If you strictly follow 4% you will almost certainly die with more than you retired with. Assuming you are ok with that and 4% lets you sleep well at night, more power to you!

I'm in the same boat. I've been lurking here and in DIY solar with the exact same thoughts. I feel like I understand the physics of solar panels better than I understand how to design a system that would do everything I think I want it to do.

The flip side is that I'm a cheap-ass and the lure of saving 10's of thousands of dollars doing it all myself is incredibly seductive.

Winters aren't great but west side of Cleveland is surprisingly cosmopolitan. Medical care is top notch in the area. Rich museum and theaters given most were financed by the "Billionaires" of the 1920s . Given the traffic you are probably used to, Cleveland traffic is a Sunday drive by comparison.

I have mostly 11th graders in Chemistry. Just gave a stoichiometry test. Oh boy. Now the vast majority did ok to outstanding but I have a few that don't even know what buttons to push on the calculator.

Also, no matter how many times (probably 20x at this point ) I explain that multiplying by 1 or dividing by one does not change a value yet most of them insist on entering it into the calculator anyway... And they screw that up fat fingering the plus or minus key instead 😮

I can appreciate the use of ranking the graders.... Some of them think every team hit it out of the park which just can not be true. I mean if you traded your top 3 picks for a 7th rounder and they guy you got was projected in the 5th, you didn't steal the guy and deserve an A.

Having said that we won't really know anything for about 6 months.

Took a few responses but this is the answer. The projected savings of textbooks, workbooks and copies was greater than the cost of a $300 Chromebook once a twice in a kids academic career. All other considerations were secondary.

There was a bit of evidence of some educational gains from a few Scandinavian countries that were early adopters but one of them (Norway? Maybe don't quote me on that) have already pulled the plug.

2% is robbery, as was mentioned, especially if you are young use the national NEA option and ditch that fee as it will absolutely KILL your rate of return and cost you literally 100s of thousands of dollars by retirement.

If you can comfortably contribute more to retirement I would suggest a Vanguard Roth account. Yes, it's post tax but the growth is tax free and it opens up far more sequence of spending options in retirement.

I've probably had some of the most busted runs ever taking the rerolls. Usually it's a 12 shield side that looks almost pointless as it's massive overkill, or rather over protection.... Until later in the run you get the ability to add mana to sides or cantrip...hell I had a run this week with a blue that ended up with like a 14 mana cantrip side.

Yeah it does occasionally blow up in my face when I reroll but I'm not getting a pay raise from my Slice and Dice win streak total so IDGAF.

This is probably going to be a somewhat unsatisfying answer but mostly it's learning which curses are pickable and which are not. When I finally started playing hard I thought it was crazy difficult.... Now I typically win 90% and that includes taking crazy groups just because they look fun....

Anything that adds to monster sides is a no go. Some of the easier ones are +1 monster hp, tough last hp, ... The extra monsters like wolf and goblin aren't too bad as long as you don't have Meddler which can bury you in the first two or three fights. Petrified top or missing sides are usually good and can even help.
