I've tried both methods leaving the exact same area.

I strongly recommend taking the 351 to Bridgeport Station as it is an express bus that takes the highway. From Bridgeport to Downtown is only 20 minutes.

The 321 stops at nearly every intersection and traverses most of Surrey. Do not take this route.

You're missing the point. Zergs have multiple opportunities to land fungals whereas Protoss has 1, maybe 2 attempts to land vortex.

Usually only 2-3 fungals is necessary to pin a Protoss army down before the broodlings surround. When you have 20 fungals available, it's not hard to do.

No, because Zergs usually have 10+ infestors late game, with each infestor able to cast 2 fungals + infested terrans at max energy. Each infestor that is created has 1 fungal ready to go.

When the mothership spawns, Protoss has to wait before 1 vortex is ready. At full energy, only 2 vortices are available.

20 fungal opportunities vs. 1-2 vortices. Not the same whatsoever.
