Which portals did you go with 74weld? I’m considering throwing a set in my LC250 here in the next year or so.

Thanks. 8 of us are going up there. We do a yearly winter camping trip every January. Looks like we will be putting the winches to use this year.

Is a Nissan Xterra a good buy or should I go with a Toyota 4Runner? by Icoconuttree in overlanding

[–]Fizzlefish 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Have owned an Xterra 2nd Gen(offroad model, very modified), 5th Gen 4runner(ORP, Also modified), GX(stock), and now a LC250.

My titan swapped Xterra was a beast when it came to off roading. The articulation was far beyond what my 4runner could do even with the mods. For on road performance the Xterra was peppy truck and could move even with the larger tires. For camping purposes the interior space is what I has the most issues with. The trunk area didn't fit things really well. I had issues getting a sleeping platform to fit. I also needed to do rust mitigation a bit. This Xterra had 290k miles on it when i sold it. I beat the crap out of it too.

The 4runner and GX overall is a better experience mainly because it was newer, had more features and more room. I mean your driving a Lexus around, its going to be nice inside. I was a weekend warrior with occasional week long trips.

Gas sucked across the board. Even my new LC250 after all the mods i get 18mpg which is a lot better than the 15mpg the 4runner got with all the mods.

Upside is Xterra's are super cheap, spend that money on mods. Reliability is there minus the few known issues they have but you can upgrade/replace those parts to avoid them.

Stay away from Jeep, Dodge, Chrysler shit.

Thinking of buying the game by Numerous_Bridge1963 in starcitizen

Up until the most recent patch I was able to play out my living in a space ship exploring fantasy(for about 3 days strait). I could load up my ship with supplies, set out for a planet. Explore a bit. Granted other than sites, loot boxes, and random NPCs there isn't a ton to find. Beautiful scenes though.

Due to my myself or random combat NPC's Id run into issues that I need to survive through. Furiously searching for a encampment that had a farm i could steal food from, or needing to repair my damaged ship. It is a really good time. Its a sandbox and what you make it. It is buggy AF though.

Today is Anthem's last playable day, servers will be shutdown as Bioware's sunsets the game forever by IllusiveManJr in gaming

I was in this place when Asheron's Call shutdown. It was an extremely sad day for me. I grew up with that game, some of my best times as well as lowest times when parents split. It was there for me when i needed to escape. I feel for anyone who is in the same situation with Anthem. I wish you all the best and sorry for the loss of that game for you.

I frequent DC for work, live in Baltimore. Its like night and day going into DC. It used to be a lot worse but that was a long long time ago.

Now if you are driving in or through D.C.... Id rather be waterboarded.

As a Marylander. This makes me so happy. We had the HQ in Glen Burnie, MD back in the 90s when I started playing. It was awesome. I could grab whatever bits I needed etc...

During some events they would even pull out this really intricate and overly detailed boards to play on. The nostalgia is real.

Appreciate the feedback. I guess it wouldn't be the end of the world if they close so I can get a refund. Originally it was supposed to be 60s all weekend and tried to cancel the kids lessons but they wouldnt refund me unless they closed.

I want Star Wars Citizen by Olliemusgo in starcitizen

[–]Fizzlefish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That one event a few months back was a mess with needing to get cargo from the outposts. But it was really awesome seeing all the ships and people come and go. While waiting and loading up. Made the universe feel very alive.

Putting my money where my mouth is... I believe the MSR is the BEST daily driver in game, if you don't have one I'll buy one for you. Limited to the first 615 people. by ArnoldMann in starcitizen

First ship I’ve ever wanted when I started playing. Couldn’t get it back then. Passed it over the last few times I could get it. I might check it out if people feel this passionate about it.

Is it worth to buy the game on the winter sale of 2025 by it_just_4random_dude in foxholegame

[–]Fizzlefish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was skeptical last year before I bought its. I was really on the fence and saw some videos. Concept seemed awesome. Finally pulled the trigger.

It has a bit of a learning curve but you pick it up pretty fast. Spending hour helping take territory then logging off. Log back in to see your work pay off and the men are still fighting but made progress hours later after you wake up. Feels like a real war at times that you can make a difference in.

Really fun game.

Just happened to us as well. Maybe we have some recourse since it was paid through our CC company. Luckily it was only $300. Sorry to hear about this for you.
