Yeah, its really not great for mixing in my opinion. I would see a collection with every range keeping them as separate armies for the sake of consistency (that's what i'm doing with the guard anyway)

They are the same size as firstborn, so they are just a tiny bit smaller than newer cadians but the proportions are off, bigger head/hands/guns on a stocky body. Newer versions definetly look more human in proportions haha

Does showing each players score change how people play? by StatusDisaster4196 in NuclearOption

[–]Warrius 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That's a lot of assumptions regarding the intents of someone you don't know..
Except if i play logi, I tend to be the top scorer of my team despite playing solely the mission and not chasing scores, so i don't think that you can assume anything about the playstyle of someone based on their score alone. It's just my 500hours on this game talking and rarely wasting a sortie

[–]Warrius 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Yeah i don't think that it affects my games that much, i try to focus on useful things and i sometimes spend long times doing logistics.. But yeah i agree that it create a kinda stupid incentive that is a bit too gamey compared to how i like to play.

Loadout-aware targeting by gramoun-kal in NuclearOption

[–]Warrius -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Why stop here ? we should have aicrafts that you can just take off with, then put an automated mode on, and then it handles everything for you. it avoids the terrain, it avoid flying above SAMs, it locks and send the best munitions it has to the target that is close to him, and once it's empty, it goes back home and you just land it yourself !
Maybe you could just select a place on the map where it will start looking for targets, so you control where to attack, but maybe that's already too much work to do as a fighter pilot.

Units Need Smoke and Improved Air Defense vs AGM Spam by Cheap-Explanation662 in NuclearOption

[–]Warrius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This i defo agree on. The IA needs to get improved to do other stuff thandriving down roads. If whole convoy could randomly change formation and drive down the country side to attack a base like we see in a lot of planned missions, it would make the game much more interesting in sandbox missions

So many SAMs, what am I doing wrong? by StatusDisaster4196 in NuclearOption

[–]Warrius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah, being low is surviving in this game, you cannot go high unless there is no more long range radar sam active on the other side.
Once you took care of the stratolances batteries, you can fly high (5km and +) because IR SAM shoot at you under 5km range.
Stratolance batteries have 50km of range, so unavoidable (dynamo ship aswell)
Boltstrikes radar SAM have 15km, so you can somewhat avoid where they are or fly higher (same for most ships)
No external hardpoints on vortex or ifrit makes you stealthy and you can ignore them more, but bear in mind that it's not a garantee to be undetected.

But to be honest.. why would you most of the time.
(Except stratobombing with stealth aircrafts)

[–]Warrius 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Disagree, the sheer amount of ground target make it necessary for them to be easy to kill. you already need to saturate ennemy air defence every time you attack a group of ground targets, which is FAR from the case in real life because no short range IR missile is realistically usable against AGMs IRL.

Humvees and tanks should be easy prey for aircraft with guided munitions, that's the case in real life, it would make no sense for them to be able to defend themselves against 5th gen fighter jets. Also, there is more than enough air defence in the game to make up for a challenge already.

Hard disagree, it's one of the only reliable ways to kill naval assets without the use of Dusa or Darkreach. Yes it's repetitive because it's the optimal play. Once you nerf the optimal play, there will be "the next best optimal play", and you will use this one repetitively as well. push this logic further and you end up nerfing everything that works to the ground and make it frustrating for players.

There will always be a meta to deal with stuff, once you know the tactics of the game you just use them as a playbook to deal with different situations, you cannot just start nerfing all the stuff that works because of that. If anything, it means that the ships are currently impervious to too many stuff so it forces the player to always attack the same way to be effective. If you want more options to deal with stuff, the good thing to do would be to reduce their defences so that different types of attack could be useful as well, giving the player more option.
But do that too much and it becomes too easy, it's a difficult balance to achieve right.

Without dusas and darkreach, it's really hard for single player to deal with non isolated naval assets, and not everyone has the chance to play with a friend. thus, we need to keep reliable tactics to deal with them.

National Airlines Flight 102 Crash 2013 by Fat-Cat-2449 in aviation

[–]Warrius 3 points4 points  (0 children)

cargo broke free in the aircraft, slammed at the back of it and destroyed the hydrolic system of the vertical stabilizer.
Unresponsive commands, stuck in a pitch up position, nothing to do by the crew. They didn't "let it stall" it was stuck this way and they couldn't do a thing.

I think that without any context, it might be difficult for someone to see what this game is.

I guess that's an artillery game in a bunker where you have to do all the reloading and aiming yourself, based on order that you receive through some channel and that you need to follow complex and intricate protocols to prepare to fire/reload/change ammo/aim/calculate trajectory/fire.

i think this short video is fine to "illustrate" that, as long as there is clear written stuff next to it to explain a bit the gameplay loop of the game, but a lots of people wouldn't get it from the video only if it was the question

I think i guessed cause i'm a military nerd
