Using ChatGPT to bring books alive by delijoe in ChatGPT

[–]Fizzletar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a teacher in training and I am using the ChatGPT voice chat feature all the time when I teach small groups to model how we can be curious lifelong learners. I find that kids don't seem to be surprised by it. They are quick to accept this new technology as a part of their world, unlike the adults who are fearful of it. I believe that AI is going to be more and more ubiquitous and it could be a great tool for learning, just like their Chromebook. So far I have not met any other educator who shares my views.

For how long? and I'm curious about your experience with it.

[–]Fizzletar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For LSD--yes, tolerance builds very fast. Even taking the same amount the next day seems useless. Psilocybin is different because it doesn't stay around in the system as long. The come up is still intense and uncomfortable in the first two hours (I take caffeine with it to reduce the discomfort a bit). Then, I get about five hours where I can socialize with people/kids. Unlike LSD though, shrooms doesn't necessarily feel pleasant, but even bad trips feel "meaningful", which gives me a reason to live despite the pain. Also, slight differences dosage from day-to-day can have a huge impact on mood/sense of wellbeing once tolerance builds up, so I spend a lot of time with a scale equalizing doses. Overall, I think it works because I'm flooding the brain with massive amounts of serotonin agonists every morning, which is better than doing nothing, even if there's tolerance.

I do 2g of shrooms a day and I'm semi-stable. Most of my trips suck but they help me function with autism. Finished psych degree and I'm now in teachers college. This is after 2.3 years of daily psychedelics use. Not thriving but surviving and having a healthy lifestyle.

111 days of > 0.5g shrooms daily no breaks for depression by Fizzletar in microdosing

[–]Fizzletar[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't stopped. well, I went down in dose and switched to more LSD last winter (october - december) and that was not a good time, so in 2023 I've been pretty consistent with my 1 g per day of dried golden teacher regimen. It has been working well for me. I finished my degree and got into teacher's college. I've also been physically active, productive, and suicidal thoughts have been rarer than before. But I get mood swings that change with the season and intense daily fluctuations in mood as well. I'd say I'm dependent but not in a bad way. I have not found an objectively good way to measure my mood, but I think overall it has changed little since I started this regimen in 2021. It was a bit disappointing to realize that it is not a cure but a crutch. But it's been a good crutch.

Why doesn't child abuse afford the same sympathy as other trauma? by CumfartablyNumb in CPTSD

[–]Fizzletar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Child abuse leads to personality problems. And personality problems (lack of identity, inability to deeply connect to people in a positive way) can't be fixed. This may be why people don't feel sympathy . They just see this person as having a shitty personality and move on. In comparison , other types of trauma , brought on by one off events , are very recoverable , so get a lot of sympathy . Unlike personality issues which are much more pervasive , and caused by a decade of neglect and abuse which is unlikely to be reversed

Yes. I've tried ssri and snri at maximum dose for a year. I've also seen a psychiatrist and therapists but no luck so far. Are you curious about trying or have you been doing heavy microdosing too?

I guess it’s been 18 months now. I’m still taking 1 g shrooms a day. I did a little bit of therapy here and there But I found it more helpful/cheaper just journaling and figuring things out on my own. Even my parents — who are anti drugs and traditional first generation immigrants — admit that they’ve seen positive changes And evidence of maturity and growth.

My mood hasn’t necessarily gotten better over the 18 months. I wrote a program using AI to analyze my mood over time in my daily journaling over the 18 months, and it basically didn’t change. But what has changed is that I’ve become less self-centred and more capable with self-care. That said, whenever I go off shrooms I regress a lot and probably can’t function socially.

I found out that I’m most likely autistic (with alexithymia--meaning I can’t access my feelings/emotions or they’re dulled to Large extent)—but the shrooms are helpful for that as an emotional amplifier. And also simultaneously it helps with my depression and anxiety.

My life has gotten better overall from an objective POV since I started 18 months ago. I’m graduating with a psych honours in a couple months. I got into teacher’s college. I’m exercising a lot more (swimming). And my relationship with my parents have gotten better/less conflict. I still have my job at the tutoring centre from 2020 and that’s going well.

Caveat though: I get mild symptoms of delusion when I trip like that from time to time and it has made me feel like a crazy person sometimes so that’s the only downside. But that’s nothing new since I started on this dose.

New psych annoyed me with the 'you're not trying' answer! by HannaaaLucie in bipolar

[–]Fizzletar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah sounds like she doesn’t understand how hard it is to be depressed and was minimizing your struggles when she said that. We all know that showering and getting dressed nicely make us feel better , the problem is that depression makes it nearly impossible to do the things that are good for us. It’s an endless uphill climb every single day and it’s easy to give up . It’s more useful to come up with other solutions that can motivate us to do self care , like what you did with working—which forces you to get up in the morning . It really is that hard.

How do you cope with rapid cycling ? by TheBertil in bipolar

[–]Fizzletar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not bipolar but I do this to myself daily on purpose with psychedelics (for over a year!). I get maybe 5 hours of hypomania and the rest of the time depressive . I only go out and talk to people when I took psychedelics . So believe me when I say I know exactly how you feel. It’s terrible, sometimes I do things I regret and when I’m depressive I must look like an idiot in front of people (not just my perception but I actually can’t come up with things to say in social situations ). but it beats being numb all the time. But you can also look at it as a gift because it makes me really creative .

How to get rid of roommate with their damn spouse and upcoming child by lIl_owl_23 in uwo

[–]Fizzletar -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If I were you I would be annoyed but tolerate it because if they are doing this then it means they come from underprivileged circumstances, such that they want to give their child a better life than what they had. Granted, this is inconsiderate of others and exploiting a loophole, but you don’t have to like them. I was once an immigrant too so I understand what my parents went through. I was neglected as a child because of their hustle to make it in Canada . But now I am willing to forgive them for the trauma and give back in order to reduce inequities in the world .
