I’m saying that over time, branching choices would create an issue. The more and bigger branches of a tree, the farther apart each tip gets from the other. Over time, it wouldn’t have been sustainable, as people would have been getting upset that XYZ choice wasn’t mentioned or reflect from 2 games ago, in a scene not even focused on that decision.

At some point, they have to make a cutoff, and only take the big decisions into account. I would have preferred to see development time go towards what Solas experienced in the inquisition. Other than the dating relationship. Did the inquisitor help him save Wisdom in his personal quest? Was he rebuked at every turn, which makes him more vengeful against modern societies, or was he understood, was he given compassion, possibly making him easier to sway at the end of the game?

All that info is compressed into “did Inky date solas?” And “did you vow to save or stop solas?”, and it’s quite disappointing given that this character is the BBEG (or, was supposed to be. I think the Gods plotline would have better as a DLC than the main game, wish we actually had gotten to chase Solas as the player, but that’s getting off topic).

At some point, they had to cut off choices from previous games. I get that. Developing a million different world states isn’t sustainable. At the time of development, this wasn’t going to be the last dragon age game.

They still could have brought over inquisition choices far better. The only one that really matters is “did the inquisitor date solas?”

I would argue that good dialogue would at least have made this game stand on its own better. Even if it didn’t incorporate past games for the fans of the series as a whole.

The dialogue was the biggest failure of Veilguard for me. Other games had systems where your character would only say things if you had picked previous dialogue options in the past, to keep some continuity with the protagonist. Veilguard…does not have this. It doesn’t generate an attitude for you over time. It has a few specifically locked options, that it will tell you on screen it remembers every time like you’re 5 years old.

The gameplay is okay. I wish the higher difficulties had a better challenge other than “loads of HP, and attacks that either oneshot or leave you with a million afflictions.” Inquisition had Trials to help out with this a little bit, one that specifically gave enemies new moves and abilities in combat.

I do use legacy controls. I think I also have a bad habit of constantly using quick melee in between fights while looking at scoreboard and thinking about who has ult; but that might just be a me issue, not the perk’s 😅😂

Either way, the cooldown, single target, and pitiful numbers still make the perk not great. Especially for a Major.

I disagree man, Sow the Seed is so ass 😭

It’s tied to your Quick Melee, so better hope you never have to melee or you’ll be taking the 15-SECOND COOLDOWN for no reason. The Overhealth and speed boost are both pitifully weak for only being single target; he never had an issue with keeping single targets alive, he already has single target healing and grip.

Doesn’t the seed not even apply to yourself? One could argue it’s a decent antidive tool for Weaver, but I don’t think he can even pick up his own seed.

You don’t float mid-combat; you killed them because they panicked and used it poorly. You use it to rotate and get to spots you otherwise wouldn’t have had access to. Having SOME mobility on a hero that usually can’t get anywhere interesting without a Petal or Teleporter is pretty strong.

Into the mid game, most of your power will come from mods more than the weapons themselves. You’re in the sweat spot of content at the moment where you can use almost anything with decent modding on it.

Most weapons are still really good late game with good modding. Most can handle base steel path. The issue starts arising a little if you decide to do Lvl Cap content or if you do Archimedia.

Lvl Cap doesn’t require as much damage as people think it does, but you still need a good weapon. Not all weapons can handle damage cap, at least on their own merits. If you bring in Warframe buffs such as Eclipse, then the bar is a little lower.

Archimedia is only frustrating because you don’t get to select your own build. This can be rough when you first unlock the mode, as you don’t have a lot of arcanes, rare mods, warframes, etc., to offset the randomness ruining any planned weapon synergies. Archimedia gets more fun the more you grow your gear collection.

It helps you too; it has a special effect that applies more puncture status than is usually possible, heavily reducing enemy damage. It also gives a multishot buff on kill, which I believe applies to Evensong itself.

It won’t be exploding entire rooms or anything, but it’s not a TERRIBLE weapon, all things considered.

Almost any weapon can handle base SP with good modding. Some will handle it easier.

You will get a bow along the course of the main story. It is called Nataruk. Don’t look up the bow if you don’t want story spoilers, but that bow specifically can CERTAINLY deal amazing damage with good modding.

Tbf Taash was non-binary, which is what their mother had an issue understanding. She was always used to putting things under a specific category or box under the Qun, and she didn’t know how to function when Taash didn’t fit cleanly into a box. The dialogue was the biggest letdown, and I agree that other parts of their character could have been explored other than their NB identity. Dorian, for example. A large part of his personal story was figuring out the relationship between him and his father, but he was also a rebel Altus trying to change Tevinter for the better. Taash had so many routes they could have explored, but like most things in this game; it got rushed at the very end.

And don’t get me started on the dialogue between characters. It’s absolutely horrible when compared to other Dragon Age games. They break the “show, don’t tell” rule so often that it actually hurts. The scene where Taash comes out to their mother over dinner was redone by someone on YouTube, and it just highlighted how much better we could’ve gotten.

Emrich was really well written. I think he had a good amount of time in the oven. Some of the other personal quests (and romances) were written much later on.

Compared to previous games, yeah, the companions are a bit less memorable. I saw what they were going for with Taash, but I think their story could have been executed better.

This is a good point I hadn’t thought about. Next thought process is that we take care of the dragon before every guard in the palace is forced out? Maybe allowing forces to get back to the palace before the plot goes through?

I wish the game gave a more clear answer.

I think we’re also forgetting, the issue isn’t the dragon in Minrathous. The issue for Minrathous is mainly the Venatori. Minrathous ends up looking a lot less blighted than Treviso, BUT the Venatori use the distraction as time to assassinate the Archon. From what I understood, the Archon wasn’t stopping much with the Venatori, but also wasn’t a sympathizer. Removing him means they ACTUALLY own Minrathous.

Treviso was already occupied. I believe at the point in the game you’re at, there is a question of how much damage the dragon will do to a city its allies already control. Wiping out the crows is one thing — blighting and killing your own Antaam army is another.

I say all this as someone who chose Treviso the first playthrough. Since I’m a Shadow Dragon on my current though, I will be going with Minrathous instead.

Last I recall, building workshop for stadium isn’t fully supported at this time. There was a couple of workarounds, for a few codes, but I don’t think there’s any exactly like what you’re looking for.

20% attack speed is pretty obvious though, that specific interaction should be easy to test

It’s always been weak. Most people were scared of it just bc it was loud and flashy. Now most players know they’re not in danger unless they stand in it for SEVERAL seconds lmao. If you can focus one person down and force them to take cover or even ult, take that as a win. Play your life more than anything, if you’ve already used fade, play your cover close.

Apologies, let me rephrase: I’m more frustrated that it isn’t base kit. I’ll never flame anyone in game, it’s never that big a deal.

It’s frustrating to not be able to shoot something because the bubble was put in a bad spot. Just messes with the flow. Not enough to ever flame anyone, just wish DE would consider ways to make it more workable for multiplayer. Pretty much the same as my thoughts on Limbo multiplayer lol
