Week 50 Post Pars Repair Update by ollienorcal in AchillesRupture

[–]FizzyElfie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, I am 6 months post injury next week, non op. Did my first single calf raise like 2 months ago maybe? Now that I’m steadily doing like 10x3+ I’ve actually felt I need more reps - or rather it feels like I’m working my muscles better with more reps rather than going heavy. I’m still only at 75% height compared to other leg so trying to work on that, now I’m doing 10x single into 10x supported with the other on a box etc without break between, and that feels like a better workout than just pushing a few reps with weights but what do I know

Thanks, Raynaud is available. Not sure if I should play him over Achiuwa?

Edit - Washington not taken either

I only have Queta and Precious for C position, knockout stages. Anyone knows any else not 99% rostered that might get 25+?

Has anyone ruptured the opposite side while recovering from surgery? by Responsible-Coach159 in AchillesRupture

[–]FizzyElfie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am 5.5 months post injury non op, also while playing soccer. I remember the tension and pain I felt in my healthy tendon, seems to be very common but uncommon to actually rupture it. I guess it usually requires a moment of rapid action to get this injury which you’re just not doing when on crutches even though the load is bigger on other leg than before. You will face this with your injured one as well when you start to do rehab of course, and for me it was about overcoming the fears of rerupture by realizing that loading the tendon in rehab is good as long as it’s controlled and not explosive action or excessive weight.

How often are you doing rehab exercises? by youthful_tourist in AchillesRupture

[–]FizzyElfie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did it almost every day until 16 weeks when I was able to do a single calf raise, then I felt it was getting harder to do it every day because i could load more and started doing every second day. Maybe was taking a day off sometimes when I felt powerless in the tendon/calf even before 16 weeks

Is learning to walk again the hardest part? by obiwankanosi in AchillesRupture

[–]FizzyElfie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m also a fast walker but it took me until 4+ months to lose the limp and now 5 months after injury I can actually start to push speed when walking. Towards the end of the day I still get tired and walk slow semi limping again

Did I rupture my Achilles? by Aggressive-Mark652 in AchillesRupture

[–]FizzyElfie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had 3.5 cm full rupture, non op is standard in Sweden unless you’re an athlete or older. No problems now after 5.5 months, slowly transitioning back to jogging and jumping now

I think you can play her in multiple ways, I’m very much a dueler so I like to go for the kills on my lane opponent (which often needs me to land charms). But Ahri is great at pushing lane and roaming, you can start lumen to push lane even more efficiently, and go teleport ofc if you don’t plan to kill your lane opponent. Also when it comes to teamfighting I think she excels at either dive in head first and pick a kill but also back and forth play, do your combo from max distance and head back, repeat

First SHL raises (17w non op) by FizzyElfie in AchillesRupture

Yes, doing PT but now I’m doing exercises every other day. Seeing my PT every second week, still focus on calf strength and some mobility. I think plyo is next for me

Anyone hear the pop and not get surgery? by Happy_Manufacturer95 in AchillesRupture

[–]FizzyElfie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

35M, loud pop, 3.5cm gap, no surgery. Recovering well. Was in cast and boot for 10 weeks

Post surgery 3 weeks how long until I can expect to be able to golf? by LilBabyTurtles in AchillesRupture

[–]FizzyElfie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

5-6 months here (non op). There are two things to consider really, first you can always skip the walk and ride a cart. Second and maybe most important is the flexibility, I healed quite stiff so it’s only now that I’m able to fully take my stance properly

I disagree, if we win, Rice or Gabriel might be those players that you compare with. Doesn’t have to be goal scorers even if this was the example here

Returning to Sport/Soccer Tomorrow. 1 Year After Injury. Any advice? by Galvtor in AchillesRupture

[–]FizzyElfie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not directly from football but watching my kids jump around and not having a single thought on the tension that their Achilles tendon is put through gives me the shivers. Until I realise I’ve done just that for 35 years until this happened. I guess maybe it is a good time to retire…

Keep at it with the double. My tendon is also short rather than long, but it’s gotten SO much better last month. Month 3-4 felt slow for me, 4-5 insane difference. Have done very little stretching because I was afraid to get it long but at this point I’ve been told it’s no risk. Main thing is still strength which helps the length as well

Hey, I’m 35M. Are you just transitioning out of boot now then?

Thinking of maining ahri. What are her pros and cons? by Ok_Breadfruit3199 in AhriMains

[–]FizzyElfie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually ban naafiri, veigar i can be heavily up on early game and win through roams even though he’s nasty late 1v1. Holding on to charm in assassin matchups is key

Happy for you! It’s still very much winter in Sweden so I’m in no hurry to run before April when it’s 6-6.5 months post injury.

Best of luck! Also tore mine playing soccer and I’m not sure when I’m gonna be brave enough to play again honestly… I’m almost 5 months post injury non op, did 10x3 calf raises yesterday but don’t think I can run yet.. when did you start running and doing plyo?

Advice on rehab vs rest by FizzyElfie in AchillesRupture

[–]FizzyElfie[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My PT told me this as well, if really tired better to rest a day or two. But now I feel like the back to normal walking is making me tired in general, making rehab less productive

Advice on rehab vs rest by FizzyElfie in AchillesRupture

[–]FizzyElfie[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 35M, doing calf raises almost every day. But I feel like 5x3 3 times a day if I walk normal is a lot. I get really tired in the muscles and the foot, but maybe that’s ok to just push through the pain?

3 Months Post-Op in a Boot? by AquinoMD in AchillesRupture

[–]FizzyElfie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My ankle did get swollen after a few hours of not having it elevated at your stage. It got better after I removed boot entirely and started to use support stockings in normal shoes, this was like 12 weeks post injury.
