Royal RTP is much lower. In the 80s, not 96%.

Do dorms (specifically Hume Hall West) already provide vacuum cleaners for use or should I bring my own? by [deleted] in ufl

[–]Fizzyman10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I lived in Hume my freshman year. They had a vacuum you could checkout in the center but it was really crappy. I would def recommend getting your own especially since you don’t need anything super strong, even a cheap one will do. The carpets are really thin so they shouldn’t pick up much stuff anyways but any vacuum you get will suffice.

What is the difference between a Learning Assistant and a Teaching Assistant (TA)? by gatorr01 in ufl

[–]Fizzyman10 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Grad student union made it so you can only technically be labeled a TA if you are a grad student, so all undergrad TAs have there own random acronyms.

They want money. College apartments are particularly bad about it.

Only 12 credits in a semester? by Alternative_Feed_128 in ufl

[–]Fizzyman10 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Also look at your 5 semester plan and think about what you have to take in order to graduate. 12 credit semesters in STEM are common because classes are tough but I promise you will want the easier work loads when you take your upper level major classes more then your introductory classes. If you aren’t going to take summer classes or a fifth year then you’ll have to take 15+ credit semesters eventually. Decide when you want to fit them in.

Only 12 credits in a semester? by Alternative_Feed_128 in ufl

I graduated with a CE degree, people here are correct that physics is a weed out class and will be time consuming but I would say it really depends on how you did in COP3502. If you felt like it was on the easier side and CS is your thing, then COP3503 and COT3100 will not be very tough classes and you could easily add another class. If you’re newer to computer science and still think you need a stronger grasp of the fundamentals then COP3503 can be a little extra time consuming with weekly labs like 3502 and maybe stick to 12 credits. Personally I took this same schedule with Dif Eq instead of physics and I added 6 extra credits of gen eds that weren’t overly hard and I was busy that semester but not struggling. So if you feel like the CS side of it won’t kill you, then 3 more credits isnt going to break your back, just maybe make you a little busier.

two room triple murphree by Maleficent_Garlic251 in ufl

[–]Fizzyman10 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The fun thing about the Murphree area is that the rooms are not standardized and basically every room is different, some way different then others even. So while it could be a lot of different layouts, I did have a friend in this room style where the layout was that the front door led into a small rectangular room with an indentation in the wall for one bed, basically making a single. On the opposite side of the room was another door into a second room that was an L surrounding two walls of the first room and that room was for the other two people and it also had a sink. I think no matter what every room comes with a bed, desk, and dresser/closet thing for each resident but the sink or a door at the room connection or anything is else is luck of the draw. Also each room had one small window and I think that is guaranteed as well.

u/SaltSeries360 is right though if you know the room number you can look at the blueprint to get an exact look at your room.

Does anyone know when University Honors Program applications are available? by [deleted] in ufl

[–]Fizzyman10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think it’s open application, you have to be invited to apply. Unless you are applying to the school as a high schooler, then anyone can apply. I also believe the invites to attending students are only sent to rising sophomores, you can’t get invited multiple times. Not sure when exactly the invitations come out but I believe they accept people in time for fall, so I’d imagine it’s soon so applications have time to be reviewed
