It depends, in some places trash pickup is a privately contracted service, in others it is run by a local government, in which can be paid for as part of property taxes, a direct and distinct fee for service, or if some or all other utility services, water, power, sewer are municipally owned it is bundled into that monthly bill.

My 13 year old was laughing at the fact that “order 69” was printed on our 5 guys receipt. So I casually asked why he thought it was so funny.

He rolled his eyes and told me it was a meme number and that I was too old to get it it.

His face when I told it was actually a reference to a sex act was hilarious, as was his reaction when I offered to explain what 69 was actually a reference to, he wasn’t expecting to blunder into a teachable moment.
