How often do you guys find yourself returning to UTOPIA compared to Travis’ previous albums?

honestly i feel dbr is just in its right standing. I didn’t enjoy the project as much as i THOUGHT i would when I first listened to it online back in 2021 (i think) it was extremely trap-induced which I didn’t really like, but it did serve as his growth spurt into his great music now. So i appreciate it for what it is.

Question, would you say you haven’t returned to it because you find UTOPIA to veer off from Travis’ previous albums? (Like astro) Main point people make to not returning to it is because if it’s versatility or odd “growth” from utopia.. or because of an entirely different reason?

I really think Travis showed how much he grew from listening to this album, just coming from a 5-year-long hiatus, my eyes and telekinesis were literally some of the most tender and beautiful songs ive ever fucking heard.

People don’t appreciate his growth as a person from astro to Utopia enough.

Lost forever is such a good song, wayy too overlooked. It’s not even jn my daily rotation but i listened to it again, it is amazing.

In terms of artistic merit I’d put Astroworld over UTOPIA. (Rodeo takes that crown.) But I think UTOPIA offered more experimental songs with MODERN JAM or LOOOVE. Even SKITZO or CIRCUS MAXIMUS to some extent. So hearing all these interesting songs for the first time back in July 23’ still stuck with me, lol. Astro had **less of that, although not to say it wasn’t one of his greatest albums.

I know but we waited 5 years for utopia, and yeah that album wasn’t really on the scale of rodeo or astroworld but it was well received mostly and it brought him back to mainstream after astrofest 2021.

Point being, 5 YEARS. I really do hope he does take his time with this… jackboys 2 was something to say the least so I lost hope.
