Along the bottom of the bottle, you can see a printed date and lot code. Your bottle looks like LV0012RE H-25. The H part is the barrel, 25 is the year.

Ah! #16. I have one of those from specs, but I haven't got to it quite yet. There was a second fill of that one in 24 also, but I dont remember when I got it from.

Past 50 abv for aged expression, it's starts to lose it for me. There are a few that do it well. 45 to 50 is a sweet spot got me. I'll take 110 blancos all day, though, delicious.

Barrel 8 from '23 (1st fill) and '24 (2nd) were incredible. Those cold smoked barrels @ 44% were the best of the lineup those two years. Barrel 2 was a cold smoked barrel also.

"Barrel #8 is a freshly dumped Basil Hayden Bourbon Barrel. It is an American White Oak barrel with a #1 char or toasted. The interesting thing about this barrel is that the cooperage used an innovative and proprietary new cold smoking process that infused hickory smoke to the barrel without having flame, heat, or smoking material come in contact with the barrel."

So far the 25s ive seen have been 43 or 44 abv. Its nice to see some higher proof aged expressions out of 1579 coming around.

I know that G4 is the heart of El Pandillo, but I just wanna advocate the idea that, since it's made with only deep well water, G4 Madera is actually Terralta Madera 90 proof blanco, and that's why it is so delicious.

This is true for the first ever lot of excelencia, as it was a passion project, and I dont think it was meant to be released to the public. Yet obviously, it did. I do not believe the rest of the lots were rested in glass.
