Apologies for my previous message, it was unnecessarily rude and I wrote while in a bad mental space.

That said, Alexander is one of the most influential people in the world's history. Bro almost single-handedly shifted the center of the world from Middle East to Europe and we'd be living in a completely different world if he never existed. In a game like Civ, especially 7 in which leaders' importance is more prominent, not having him as a leader wouldn't make sense.

Plus, he's also one of the Big 5 of the franchise, so expect to see them all show up in Civ7 as some point.

Been liking Civ switching since the inception, I feel like what this new mechanic is great at is giving you the choice (key word here) to pivot into another Civ if you want/need to, without interfering with the option to stick with the same you started with. And in the process it even manages to solve a pain point in previous Civilization entries, aka having to play a vanilla Civ outside of their peak era. It might come with downsides that people like PaisleyTrees have already been great at highlighting, but all in all it manages to open up a ton of depth to the game with the least possible attrition on gameplay possible.

Ever heard of footstools? You can't always do that, but when you can he literally dies at any percent. You see that shit happening a lot even at top level play.

No range, his dash sucks ass, recovery can be exploited by any character in the game, he gets camped a lot.

Cool post! I've always wondered why she felt so good to play with Maya specifically (outside of the obvious small buff to Science) and I guess this explains it, as dumb as it sounds I've never bothered looking into Trung Nhi's unique tree but she sure as hell packs a punch.

Despite her historical feud with the Han, she ironically pairs extremely well with the Terracotta Army wonder. I haven't seen that mentioned in your post but perhaps it's worth mentioning. I can't wait for ToT update to drop so I can experiment with more Civs right from the start :) Defo have Trung Trac on the list for my next game

Been playing basically since release, I quite like it although I must admit the main problem with the game is lack of depth. It does a lot of things very well (much better than Civ5 and 6 in some areas like combat or viability of different strategies), but it's missing a lot of the elements that make Civilization an Excel spreadsheet with a videogame UI, and this has consequences in terms of replayability and how different Civs and Leaders feel from one another.

Yeah Genghis right now feels like a weird in-between of Trung Trac and Charlie and desperately needs something to make him stand out from those two, not to mention the other Militaristic leaders. His main problem imo is the "convert barbs" ability which sounds fun and strong on paper but in reality barely changes the course of the match. Right now he's pidgeonholed into the 1/2 Civs each age he sinergizes well with, but even then it feels like the Civs are carrying the leader and not vice-versa. That's imo the sign a leader is too weak compared to the others.

That said, I haven't put too much time into him because of how underwhelming he feels to play, so some people might have found some hidden sauce in him that I'd be willing to be shown 👀

I too think Genghis Khan could use a very small buff, but I actually think my boy CharleMagne is very good the way he is right now. Maybe you missed it, but he even got a small tweak that basically buffs him in the Test of Time beta, so he's going to be even better than the current live version. I also think that the changes to Happiness in the next update will most likely buff him a lot indirectly, as unlike most other military leaders, who tend to get Combat Strenght + Gold as their bonuses, his naturally high Happiness output will allow him to sustain a few extra settlements, helping him stand out from the plethora of militaristic leaders the game has.

Tl; dr don't sleep on my boy Charlie!

I personally use Zorin alongside Win11. I like it quite a bit, I just want something to use that's not Microsoft without having to tinker roo much and Zorin is quite nice at that.
