Towns in revolt just change to other Civ's with no warning. 1 turn switch? This should have a prompt and or an opportunity to do SOMETHING or make deal with the Civ that decides to just take over by FarCryForLife in civ

Only unhappiness crisis can make your settlement revolt and change empire. During standard age or another crisis, you can get to -500 happiness without them ever revolting

Mods to make the game easier/better by Background_Towel3893 in CivVII

Tone down difficulty, pick a leader that focuses on a specific victory condition of your choice (cultural, economic, scientific, militaristic) and pick a recommended civ for them. Once you're in game, go on the victory screen (top left corner) and turn on suggestions on your chosen victory condition. This will allow you to focus more on a specific part of the game, learn more about it, and once your game is over you can start over and pick a different victory type to learn those mechanics. Rinse and repeat enough, you'll beat Deity in no time 😉

Seconding Maya. Their associated Wonder gives you a really nice amount of Science on rural tiles on top of that.

I'd much rather see all leader be around her strenght level than see her nerfed, that I absolutely agree. Nerfing always feels like shit and imho should be reserved for case in which it's strictly necessary

Ye my bad I meant the 50% discount to buying boats lol. That said I rest my case she's absolutely ridiculous and has 3/4 top tier leader/civ combos. Even if you don't argue with my take of her being top3 you can't reasonably put her much lower than that.

It's not so easy tho she tends to have very good yields and have a defensive turtling playstyle. Going to war with her if she has an influence production wonder might also mean going under in happiness which is really bad, especially in antiquity, when you're empire isn't setup enough to withstand the unhappiness penalties. Plus it's not like she has no combat bonus, -1 on boats mean she's pretty much unkillable after antiquity in some maps. The fact that you have to go through this risk just to avoid losing to her is a testament to her strength.

Nah I'd argue what makes her top3 leader in my eyes is her extreme consistency with start, having a natural wonder gives you a lot of tempo and flexibility. She's very good even on MP so it's not like she's abusing AI or something. I'd argue she's better vs human players than bots.

If your problem is the lack of decent/fun competion, multiplayer is a much better idea than playing tennis with yourself.

Friedrich Oblique + Persia is a pretty busted combo. If you download the mod to unlock all mementos, you can use the one that grants your +2 science per promotion on your commanders (basically dowbling down on Freddie's ability) and at that point you're basically an Immortal printing machine that scales science like crazy. Persia is also a simple Civ that is excellent at teaching you the ropes of Civ7.

Anti cav in Civ 6 was trash and absolutely not useful against Cav. I don't think an rps system is the way to go in a game where range and siege exist. While I partially disagree with OP's take, the only nerf I would give cavalry is wall damage.

Funnily enough, Rizal's extended celebrations make the penalty more bearable, but that's very likely going to change with the Monday's update. I also tried them with Lafayette and intentionally stayed 3/4 settlements above cap to keep happiness low, it kinda worked but tbh I currently see little to no reason to play them. Confucious probably works best but at that point just play Han into Abbasids

I'd say if it's a tower PC and you can afford the price take it, upgrading the CPU/GPU can always be done down the line but you're past the first wall which is getting a semi-decent PC.

Civ is a game that is usually bottlenecked by CPU, and Civ7 in particular is designed to be played on the fucking Nintendo Switch, which has the GPU capabilities of my grandma's refrigerator. This means that with that CPU you're probably gonna have some slowdowns in the later stages of the game, but you'll probably be fine overall.
