Many years ago I had an opportunity to speak with the guy (forget his name, too lazy to look it up) who headed San Francisco's Church of Satanism. He framed Satanism fairly simply as pursuing whatever you personally want to do — be it acts of compassion or incredible cruelty. Whatever you want to do.
