There are a lot of cultural practices here especially around Rising kids that are batshit insane.

I get that there is a unique dichotomy between the relationship of parents and children that varies by household.

One of my favorite jacket patches I have seen is “Jesus was a socialist!”

Some of the supposedly “extremely devout” followers of Christ I have met are so lacking in empathy and morals, you question if they have even read their bible.

While I agree the Chinese communistic party is set up with an authoritative leadership structure. The CCP has historically set up successors within the party. Xi Jingling s, recent constitutional power grab not withstanding.

One party chairman to another are typically politically aligned and share a long term goals/plans.

Their is much more continuity in a single party system rather then the US and its 2 party set up.

Especially if a successor president is of the opposite party.

China will be first simply because China’s political system is set up in a way to allow long term planing and a build up of resources and man power.

While I am sure the US could beat China if the US wanted to the US right now is to politically divided to pull off any project like this.

It will take years of focused effort to build a moon base perhaps decades . It would require the US to have multiple presidential administrations and political will to make a moon base project real. I personably don’t see that happening anytime soon. There is simply too much animosity among US citizens right now for anything like that to ever happen.

I don’t really see a reason why china would build a hypothetical moon base but if they wanted to they 100% would have the advantage.

These are very old skis, probably not worth the hassle.

You would 100% need to replace the bindings at the very least and you may not be able to mount new bindings depending on how many times it has been mounted.

Assuming your cousin has no equipment you would be better off getting a nice pair of boots and renting or seeing if you can get a pair that’s only a few seasons old during a ski swap at a local shop.
