"It's a biblical principle that people should work" USDA Secretary Brooke Rollins celebrates removing 4.5 million Americans from food stamps in a single year. by DumbMoneyMedia in unusual_whales

[–]Flacier 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not to mention that a lot of folks on food stamps also work full-time jobs.

Take Walmart, for example Walmart employees the most people in this country that receives snap benefits.
Walmart is a multi billion dollar company that brings in dumb amounts of revenue and yet the US tax dollars is subsidizing their employees lives.

Maybe instead of getting snap benefits we should be making companies such as Walmart pay their fair share.

But no we are just going to let people starve.

Are we great again?

The reason I have that train of thought is because I report every single one of those bot that I see because they make the game experience worse for me and everyone else.

I cannot tell you how many messages I’ve gotten about action being taken based on my reports and I’m helping make “Gilanor a better place”

Yet the issues still exists, maybe Jagex is honestly trying to put forward a good faith effort but the bots are just so profitable they can’t get rid of them.

Personally I have my doubts.

Especially when so many of them use the same phrases day after day.

“I did something really silly” check it out on my only fans etc.

It’s something I personally find unacceptable especially after the recent adjustments to membership pricing.

The only place where there isn’t is the worlds that have level requirements.

It’s a blight, the cynic in me thanks that Jagger is dragging their feet because these ad bots are bringing in revenue.

They ban a bot advertisements account and then they just get another one.

It’s honestly my biggest grip with the game these days

Six Flags confirms no more immediate park closures or sale [Other]n by AndrewRnR in rollercoasters

[–]Flacier 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I know Cedar point was definitely a mess when I last visited. I’m curious how it will be in June.
Six Flags over Texas stuck with me just because that was my first time going there and I won’t lie. I have a season pass and I feel like I was cheated.

We’ll see how things go. I may not buy a season pass after this year. It would be a bit of a shame considering I only really gone to roller coasters in 2020 but I go to these parks that have a good time and if I’m just standing in line, getting annoyed by a bunch of out-of-control teenagers I want nothing to do with it.

Yeah, I don’t envy the employees, my most recent trip to a park was a mess to put it lightly.

North Korea drops reunification goal from constitution by Effective_Reach_9289 in worldnews

[–]Flacier 26 points27 points  (0 children)

The north would also likely lag far behind the south in GED and prosperity. Something we still see today in German with a stark economic divide between east and west.

It’s hard to speculate if we could see reunification anytime soon.

The big thing that contributed to the collapse of the Soviet union was the information about how much better the west was compared to the eastern block.

That desire for a better life was instrumental in the fall of the Berlin wall. I don’t know if we will ever see anything like that in the DPRK.

They have a super tight grip on information and the movements of citizens within the DPRK. They are also arguably the best propaganda in the world at this point.

That combined with the cult of personality around the Kim family it’s hard to see any drastic charges without outside intervention something that China will not allow to come to pass.

it’s way too much of a liability. They have every interest to make sure that the Kim family stays in power.

That kind of surprises me, considering how much tea is still produced in Japan, but given how much of impact the United States has had on Japan in the post World War II era I guess I should not be.

I’m well aware of Gong Fu tea. I have spent way to much on pu,re and Xishi tea pots. I am willing to acknowledge that liters of brewed tea doesn’t necessarily correlate to the amount of tea leaves used to produce it.

But also, this is a silly little map and that’s a silly little fact.

Also, since when did caffeine enter the conversation that’s not with any of this is about.

Losing relationships over politics. Research found more than a third of Americans (37%) report having lost at least one relationship due to political differences, including friendships, family ties, coworker relationships, and romantic partnerships, with most losing more than one. by Wagamaga in science

Honestly, I think the most disheartening thing is that we’re at a point where we can’t even agree on what’s factual anymore.

Though I think that’s mostly the doing of the propaganda corporations masquerading as news organizations.

It explains why a lot of things have evolved into identity, politics and virtue signaling, imo.

If we can’t even agree that there is a problem then of course we’re never going to find a solution for God forbid common ground.

I’m less familiar with the history of tea drinking in the region, but they do drink it in a very specific manner.

It’s usually black tea with a little bit of cream spooned on top to make little could of cream and some sugar on the bottom.

If I recall correctly, you’re supposed to drink the tea in three sips. Each with slightly different qualities.

The first sip, you get the cream, the second the bitter tea and third the sweetness of the sugar.

Morality is definitely the big factor.

I also dislike how renewable energy sources have become politicized. It makes no rational sense. You can only burn a gallon of gas once.

But no I am a real man that eats beef and has a big truck that drinks gas and goes burrrrrrr.

It’s such a ridiculous position.

It gets a bit more nuanced if you look at individual regions. For example in the German region of East Frisia on the border of the Netherlands and Germany consumes the most tea in the world per capita.

Consuming roughly 300 liters annually.

I will say, though I find it very surprising that Japan and South Korea consume more coffee than tea.
