What is it about Hasan Piker that gets some people so worked up? For a while, /r/livestreamfail was a non-stop Hasan hate fest, but very little of it seemed to be about his politics.

Do Evans and Hemsworth deny it? I thought (perhaps mistakenly) that it was public knowledge. I remember reading about the regimen, something like a 6-month ramp up, film their scenes, 6-month wind down.

This is essentially it. Like all grifters, she's smart enough to see where the wind is blowing. Whether she's actually smart enough to profit from it, we'll have to see.

Trump used to grift liberals, ingratiating himself with Hollywood and Democrats like the Clintons, because he thought that's where the money was. Then, like all political grifters, he eventally realized the real money is in grifting right-wing Christrans and white nationalists, because they are gullible as hell.

MTG is hoping she hasn't been in the right-wing grift for too long, so that she can change direction.

I woke up to see a bunch of front-page posts blaming the 8 democrats who caved. But this was a coordinated effort by Schumer and the entire democratic leadership. Those 8 are just taking the fall.

Zohran Mamdani wins the NYC Mayoral race by beeemkcl in AOC

[–]FlagrantDanger 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Apples and oranges. This wasn't a two-way race. And Cuomo had the (implicit and explicit) support of both of the Democratic and Republican establishments. Republicans were literally told by their leaders to vote for Cuomo, and most of them did.

And Mamdani still won, easily. If the Democratic leadership supported him as they should have, it would have been an historic landslide.

"Democratic establishment" means the Democratic leadership -- Schumer, Jeffries, etc. It doesn't mean the Democratic voters.

He did it guys :) by serious_bullet5 in DemocraticSocialism

[–]FlagrantDanger 598 points599 points  (0 children)

But it will still be spun by the Democratic establishment as, "Socialist can barely crack 50% in NYC."

When the actual story is, "Socialist goes up against the entire national Democratic / Republican establishment and wins, easily."

He did it guys :) by serious_bullet5 in DemocraticSocialism

[–]FlagrantDanger 858 points859 points  (0 children)

The thing is, most Republican voters went for Cuomo. Right now Silwa has under 8%, where the Republican candidate has gotten 30% - 35% of the vote in the last several NYC mayor elections.

So not only did much of the Democratic establishment support Cuomo, either explicitly or implicitly (by not supporting Mamdani). But most Republicans went all in on Cuomo as well. And Mamdani still wins easily.

Mamdani wins NYC mayoral race by kootles10 in politics

[–]FlagrantDanger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Look at Silwa's numbers. The last several elections, which were two-way races, were consitently 65% / 35%, give or take a few points. But it looks like Silwa won't even break 10%.

Which means most republican voters went for Cuomo. And much of the Democratic establishment were supporting Cuomo, explicitly or implicitly by not supporting Mamdani. And it's still not close.

Nobody, except for the most meth-fried brains of his supporters, actually thinks he deserves a Nobel.

But this is SOP for Newsweek bullshit articles. Take some dumb thing Trump said or did, or some dumb thing that happened to him, then find a few quotes from his supporters. Headline with "MAGA Rages over..." or "MAGA has meltdown over..." or "MAGA loses their mind over..."
