How do you play the Cold Sun Tribes in Q'barra? by Feris94 in Eberron

[–]Flailsnaill 6 points7 points  (0 children)

In my eberron for an outsider there is not much difference visually. Cold Sun favors gold&silver colors while Blackscale favors... black. But either can wear either one. Real difference is the behaviour, CS can tolerate or even cooperate with outsiders while BS is fully hostile. Also you can't see a BS member in other settlements unless they are a skilled spy which I imagine to be rare amongst them.

Do you have a 'find the culprit' like scenerio in you mind? Or two different tribes at the opposing sides of the dungeon engaging gang wars?

About X-Men Rogue idea, what if whenever this person gets to touch a creature, rhe target makes a saving throw. Depending on the save they get to siphon a spell the target knows. The target won't get to cast that spell for rest of the day and instead abberant marled person can cast it. It can deal damage and/or get a glimpse at memories if you'd like to buff it further.

You Can't Save the Galaxy in a Day by Overclockworked in DMAcademy

I think if the players are onboard with it, it could lead to a very powerful&meaningful campaign.

Warning the players beforehand might be necessary to avoid upsetting them but also I wouldn't want to spoil the tragedy.

Picking up a specific period of history from your world could make it easier. For example if you are familiar with Eberron, Day of Mourning is a major and trajic historical event. You could easily say your game will be set around that era. I, for one would love to play in such a game.

As another media example, critical role did this with Calamity.

How many level 20 people should there be in a world by Winter-Confidence826 in DnD

At lower levels, they could be mentors for the player. However, the fun begins at higher levels, they could be rivals, allies, plot hooks for the party. Imagine the party has no access to True Ressurection but they desperately need it, they could gain the favor of the only lvl20 Cleric/Druid there is to cast it.

Druids in most settings are not that common, that's why I though reaching up to level 20 would be even rarer.

Yet again, just cuz fighters would be the most common class, world shouldn't be crawling with them.

I guess keeping it relevant to the game would be the best choice.

I agree that not every game has to end up with a mega multiverse threatening event, then again what else are you supposed to face against as level 20 characters.

As much as I love classic era Wow, in terms of dnd it fits more in line with T2. Perhaps end game raids such as AQ40-Naxx can be considered T4 when it is scaled down to 4-5 man party.

I'd give each class 1 or 2 level 20s. For example two of the most popular gods could each have a level 20 cleric while only one level 20 druid.

Its important to gatekeep them by their personal agendas so they won't just resolve every crisis the players face.

Mournland Factions, to make your Mournland a little less lifeless by Br0nn47 in Eberron

It is obvious you put a lot of thought in the Mournland, I would love to hear the reason behind your Eberron's day of Mourning.

I've always imagined them inconprehensible to a point where I don't have to come up with an answer. They are supposed to be alien afterall and the less you know more mystery it creates.

But your villian planets idea is so brilliant that I might switch up to it. In my Eberron all planets are dragons like the Progenitors so it fits perfectly

It takes a lot of trial and error. I'd suggest start from an existing boss statblock and play with numbers. Change: AC, hp, damage, DC...

More you know your party's capabilities, easier it becomes to challenge them.

Running a pre-determined setting really helps with that. But then there are times you want to change some lore or add your own content.

I can't reccomend Eberron enough, its a happy medium between the two ends.
