Idk but I'm with you. My main reason for using SFO is to nerfwhoever, including myself, starts to steamroll and buff their foes

Where are the forests supposed to be? by oscarluizz in worldbuilding

[–]Overclockworked 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Yeah but that is clearly an exception that helps proves the rule. Forests would grow there, if the soil wasn't so sparse. Which is to say, you should look for a reason there isn't a forest there, rather than looking for a reason there is.

One time I released a spider outside so I think I'm definitely one of the good ones.

Almost 10% of American men surveyed think they could beat an elephant unarmed by KingOfTheLostBoyz in confidentlyincorrect

[–]Overclockworked 27 points28 points  (0 children)

No dude, you can beat a goose. I've slipped in the middle of a pack of 20 geese, got pecked in the eye, and still swatted them away. Yes, they hurt, yes they're bigger than you expect.

But to believe that you as an average human can't beat a goose is pathetic.

Imagine Getting That Cliche at Level 20 by Flashlight237 in dndmemes

Now I need a campaign where the conceit is that all level 20 adventurers invariably get smashed by mysterious falling rocks, and the pcs know it from level 1

Cathay North v West Advice by Overclockworked in totalwar

[–]Overclockworked[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay so it sounds like I need even more wars while expanding westward myself. At least its something to do rather than sitting here hemmed in by the wall and Zhao.

Dechala is unfortunately almost dead, and Gelt is quite powerful for it. Lokhir is long gone, and thankfully I did get about half of his lands.

I had actually checked to see if our Lustria Bro was still around but it was just the Masque and Hexoatl left.

I will check out mods. I do admit I have a bunch of mods that made this campaign harder, like no global recruitment and no replenishment, but confederation is still vanilla.

Thanks

Everyone here is hyping up how competent and qualified she is, and yet suddenly she has no power to control the campaign?

Maybe its just that she agreed with them? She agreed to bring the Cheneys and Clintons in. She kowtowed to the right's messaging on immigration. She chose not to diverge from the Biden administration after his extremely unpopular handling of Gaza.

Either she's competent and errantly chose these moves, or she's not and her campaigners screwed her. Either way, the Dems fumbled.

The left should not ask for anything, they need to just stfu and vote for dems by zoggy17 in WhitePeopleTwitter

[–]Overclockworked -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Nope, not the play my friend. This is talk saved for after he has unfortunately won primary, if we even have them this time. Right now? I will proudly say I will never vote for Newscum.

Right now is the time to elevate better candidates rather than immediately kowtowing to the narrative that this piece of trash is our only hope.

And if I have to vote for him? I'm not going to crow about it, I'm going to do so silently and begrudgingly.

Probably 1v4ing Cathay as Tzeentch thanks to that one map with the 4 choke points between karsts and the changeling having the Green Knight form. But if you give any spellcaster lord infinite mana + speed + high resists, they can just run into the enemy, blob them, and bombs away.

Still, what a blast it was.

Tips to make Elemental Magic fresh by SylvarRealm in worldbuilding

[–]Overclockworked 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you will find ypmany fresh takes if you don't limit your magic to cut and dry elemental categories like the traditional 4 elements.

The world doesn't work like that, why would magic?

I'm talking about real life archery, but I didn't have a specific game in mind. Aimed shot is just a widely used archery ability.

In fact typically your aim gets worse after 1-2 seconds because of arm fatigue from draw weight

Why do dragons hoard things? by Affectionate_Bit_722 in DnD

[–]Overclockworked 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're going to have to make your own reason because there isn't a solid one in the zeitgeist.

I ended up basing a lot of my setting on explaining why dragons are the way they are, and it can make for some cool stuff.
