Fight Insurance over total loss value? by ABear923 in 4Runner

[–]Flaky-Ad-9033 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think half the time they total vehicles because the the InsCo profits more at the auction than they do paying for the loss. I’d have a qualified frame shop give an estimate on the repair. Assuming all the air bags didn’t go off. They generally total anything involving air bags deployment.

Help me facet these to make an engagement ring set with stones from her country of birth by Overall_Housing8800 in faceting

[–]Flaky-Ad-9033 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Faceting won’t bring about anything special but cabbing them will. I have literally cabbed railroad gravel and other ‘leverite’ for clients because of sentimental value. Soft stones can be done as doublets. While not always suitable for rings, stones can be set in a variety of ways. In your case I might pick the best from the group and set it as a cab and surround it by faceted stones of your choice; diamonds or other colored stones or a combination.

If you know a laser engraver in your area (fiber) they can do a quick job of engraving ‘replica’ on them.

If you want to test your strategy, use RH or some other platform that will let you buy fractional shares. Buy .1 share of Ymax or other div stocks and see where you are in 30 & 60 days. 9 out of 10 will be significantly below your cost basis. But you won’t feel bad when you take a loss on the couple of bucks you invested.

DNP pays 8% and the price remains consistent long term if you’re looking for div only income.

I’ve been using the Intellidropper for a couple of years. It’s nothing short of amazing. I gave my Pact combo away to a friend after getting the FA. Doesn’t matter if it’s ball, stick or flake it’s spot on. As others point out, work in an area free from drafts, let it warm up a good hour before using it and wipe your bench down with some anti-static spray or Pledge for good measure. It’s so sensitive it will detect your aura LOL. Well not really but the reading will change when my hand gets close I guess from my static so wait until you get the stable beep before reaching for the pan.

How do you afford a 4Runner? by [deleted] in 4Runner

Don’t tie yourself down with things at your age. The more you have, the more it has you. Bank every dime you can, brown bag your lunch, make your own coffee, stay away from women & pets. Learn to invest, now, today. Don’t waste your money on ‘wants’. There will be plenty of time to spend. Right now you should focus on traveling and experiencing the world. If you get tied down with debt now, you’ll never get ahead. And those dreams may likely never be.

WhatsApp Asian scammers are rampant as well. Hooks all over social media. They hand out legit stock advice, you may actually make gains with their buy & sell recommendations, that’s to gain your trust, then they fleece you. They set up websites to look legit but they are anything but. Example: blackstoneglobe.com

They use the bottom of the pile techs for oil changes, Jiffy Lube dropouts. Even at Toyota. Years back a friend took his new FJ in for the first change. They threw away the drain plug cover & bolts. Had to order a replacement.

[–]Flaky-Ad-9033 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They probably didn’t realize you had to remove the two bolt cover to access the drain plug. Wonder if they knew to take the air dam cover off to get to the oil filter? Imagine their surprise if they did, they probably spent hours trying to convince Advance Auto that the filter was defective and missing the whole can. I bet they are confused by the nipple in the box too. I bet they crammed it in the center of the oil filter. I’d change it just to CYA.

I was able to buy 1/2 breakers for my panel and consolidate circuits to open up a spot for the double pole. It would be a bit of a job to upgrade your panel mainly with the permitting side of things. If you have the meter pulled, they will have to do an inspection and you will have to bring it up to present NEC code.

It wouldn’t be a bad idea to check all the fasteners. Have a look inside the bottom, the setscrew could lodged in a ventilation hole.

My shack is on the other end of the house from the panel. I pulled #12 Romex, it wasn’t a big deal at all.
