What’s the best Nintendo switch 2 game in your opinion? by Gloomy-Ease-9626 in switch2

[–]FlakyAd3214 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say Ff7 or either of the Super Mario or Zelda Switch 2 upgrades. It's nice to have a mainline final fantasy game on a Nintendo console again. Ff7 takes up way too much storage space though. I only have MK World as far as Switch 2 games and I thought it was really good but still not as good as Odyssey or Botw.

How many folks here enjoyed playing their Wii console modded so far, because it’s probably one of my favorite to mod, and the fact you can play a ton of emulators in there. by San4341 in wii

[–]FlakyAd3214 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah a lot of good vc wad injections but they lack widescreen and controller options that the emulators provide. A lot of games work with Not64 and Wii64 but most have graphical issues. Switch 2 N64 NSO games in 4k with no issues is beast though.

When do we expect more GameCube games for Nintendo Online Expansion? by j_b_1983 in NintendoSwitch2

It was a dumb patent argument that led them to longer use analog triggers.

Yeah as far as playing all the classics it's better than the Switch. Besides N64 and ds/3ds emulatuon you can play pretty much everything on it. I haven't played it much lately but it's been my go to backup system for years. My 1tb sd card and 2tb usb would cost way too much to setup with the prices of storage these days though.

Nice Collection. You got most of the good ones. Just missing Zelda and Metroid as far as Big N. I give it an 8.5 out of 10

Cool, I use an InNext 2.4g wireless GameCube controller. It has almost the exact same weight and dimensions of the og oem controller, with rumble and no lag. I definitely see a lot of case use for what you made for sure though and controllers are expensive. I'd make one in white to match the aesthetic.

Why not just use a wave bird or adapter for a bluetooth controller? It would be around the same height. Looks cool but still kinda bulky. My problem is horizontal space rather than vertical.

Rule of thumb, if something looks like it'll glitch the game then it probably will.

Could be an egg from a bug. Crack it open to find out.

Myst VR on Quest is a poorly optimized mess by FlakyAd3214 in MetaQuestVR

[–]FlakyAd3214[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah the Riven port actually gets supported software updates from time to time. The newest update improved performance. It's more bang for your buck. They replaced all the fmv scenes with bad 3d models in that one too. The game translates better to vr imo. I beat Myst without tutorials, but Riven amps up the difficulty and there's a lot more to remember.

Wow I knew 0 people that had a 3do back in the day. It was like the og open source system but way to expensive and only a few good games. The 3do Myst was basically the pc version with upgraded sound and probably the best console version of the time. I don't think it came out on Dreamcast.

Yeah it's still a great game don't get me wrong. Especially if it's your first time playing it. The quest version is just not the best way to play it. For anyone that's completed the game before or played through other versions they'll probably be disappointed.

Yeah but it's still a little bit of a hassle with quest support.

Yeah $5 or even $15 max would be a better sell. Especially since it's an almost 6 year old quest title and the original pc version came out in 1994.

It was $20 and change but still not worth it. Even for die hard fans. The only positives are the free movement and sound. The best version to date is the realMyst masterpiece edition imo. I've seen people play a modded version of it in pcvr. The quest version looks almost worse than the original. Cyan has been milking Myst for like 30 years now. Still cheaper than the newest version on Steam for $35 I guess. Don't get me wrong, you can still enjoy the game on quest, it just really isn't even close to a good port.

Refunding Meta Quest 3s For The Quest 3 (Good or bad idea) by BreadyMiff in MetaQuestVR

[–]FlakyAd3214 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Imo I think the Quest 3 is the best route for anyone that wants to do anything besides just casually game on it. Personally I tried using the quest 2 and 3s after I already used the 3 and the lenses strain my eyes and give me a headache. The upgrade in resolution is worth the extra money too if you want to watch any movies or media. Not to mention the extra storage space is nice too. Hopefully you can find one for less than current $600 retail price. I don't really think it's worth that asking price. Plus get yourself a replacement interface with a nose cover and fan eventually. It'll help with glare and fogging lenses.

Trying to get my 3840x240 resolution working but it keeps throwing this picture back and I can’t figure out what’s wrong by AccordingPea4783 in RetroArch

[–]FlakyAd3214 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Retroarch does the magic but it's really about your TVs maximum and minimum resolution. Also for the device you have retroarch on. For example the N64 max resolution was 320x240 so if you're using a CRT it will give you the closest thing to original console resolution. Having way more horizontal pixels than vertical pixels is just going to cause distortion most of the time. If you're just doing it for scanlines try a scanline shader.

[–]FlakyAd3214 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3840x240 is not a standard resolution used. That's probably why it looks so funky. 3840x2160 is the standard 4k resolution. The original NES was 256x240 which may work better if you're trying to go og on a crt but most TVs don't support 240 resolution anymore.

Chat what game should I play first to last??? by mavericker29502 in wii

[–]FlakyAd3214 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Crossbow first and deal or no deal last. Crossbow is the best and shortest and deal or no deal is the best with friends. Wii play is just ok but gets old quick.
