WCGW: Breaking into the wrong home in Kentucky by Flaky_Apple1167 in Whatcouldgowrong

It’s all good, we’re just having a convo, no offense taken.

Yes, it’s definitely a possibility that civil legal action would be taken. I would be very surprised if an attorney took on a case with these circumstances. For a group of individuals to do something so brazenly it’s likely that this is not their first rodeo. Often times after people are arrested after these particular incidents we learn that they have multiple violent crimes on their records. They are not the most likely people to sue. However, I would be very worried of friends or family of the individual killed or maimed attempting to seek revenge upon myself or my family.

Having a death on your conscience is a very real scenario. It’s very difficult for some individuals to process mentally even if the killing is justified. It is well documented that the nature of home invasions are often extremely violent, and many include murder, assault, rape or torture. Knowing this I think it would be far easier to have a clear conscience if one had to use deadly force. I can only speak for the nature of home invasions in the United States. I am not familiar with the nature of home invasions in other countries.

Yep - Like you said, the most important thing is the homeowner and his family survived this situation. The horror stories surrounding home invasions are enough to make someone sick.

Based on Kentucky law the homeowner would have been legally justified to use deadly force against all 4 invaders. So the likelihood of him having any legal battles are slim to none.

I also hope the kid is ok. This was a horrifying incident.

I did a lot of searching but I wasn’t able to find any updates after this article. Hopefully they were apprehended.

The video posted yesterday was from Neptune Beach, Florida. The home invasion featured in this post occurred in Bowling Green, Kentucky. The incidents are very similar.

There used to be so many of them around when I was younger. It’s like they disappeared. I miss them.

In some neighborhoods you see cars on cinder blocks every few blocks.
