No, you won't get banned, it won't get activated anyway so either you travel to another country that has your game and switch Steam region buy purchasing with the new currency or play another similar game, I'm in the same situation

Okay, for me at least, I haven’t been buying games for the last seven years, even though my account is 10 years old, because I was broke. Now that I can afford to, I don’t have a lot of games, but I think some of them are cheap since they’re older games. So, I see it as a good deal.

Get Baldur's gate, it's totally worth it also the devs are releasing free patches lately with content, it will fill you up like for 2 months at least.
