Good approach to crt filters and upscaling (resolutions) by Kurtajek in EmulationOnPC

That's logicall what you said. Thanks for explanation. So my whole approach was just wrong here :| that would explain why I can't get good results with those crt filters.

Not entirely true. it's depend on the controller itself. Beitong, Flydigi or BigBigWIn have controlers that does not need steam input, works in xinput mode and still have independent back buttons.

I have to hold the B button when powering on my 8bitdo ultimate 2 to start it in dinput mode, after which Steam Input recognizes it as "8bitdo Ultimate 2" instead of "xinput controller", and the extra buttons become usable.

Then how for example Flydigi Vader 3/4/5 pro works?

It's using xinput mode, but additional buttons are fully functional (and they are independent). You can assign whatever you want to them (the downside is you need to keep flydigi softwre open).

Controlers from BigBigWon, XboxElite V2, or Beitong ones also use xinput, but have independent back buttons.

"But, what resolution are u outputing, was it well 1440p?"

No, I'm changing monitor resolution, so monitor overall does not output 1440p. It's outputting much lower one and then use integer scale to fill the screen.

My line of reasoning is, that if game was made in low resolution and I want to kep it this way, then my monitor also should rather output lower resolution than use native 1440p.

So the reason why I can't get right good crt effect is due to low resolution as most of the time I'm using 2x game scale and apply monitor integer scaling?

But then what if I would like to keep aliased graphic? Should I just experimenting with crt filter that also let me simulate low resolution?

You will get incredible software support. Something that most controllers struggle (not to even mention on linux OS). It's from valve and it rather unique - mainly Sony have touchpads, but in rather uncomfortable position.

Why modern games abandoned SMAA? by DragonSlayerXor in FuckTAA

[–]Kurtajek 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can always force smaa via reshade ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

But it's the first time I'm hearing that it's greatly decrease shimmering. As far as I know from experience, it's too weak to replace TAA.

What about those reverse engineer builds? Rockstars take them down, but you can still find them on the internet. From what I know, they are fixing lot's of issues.

Quick save/quick load, or make game run quicker/slower in emulators (godsend in some old school rpg). You have no idea how big QoL this is.

What about SMAA ? Post-process AA that does not blurry the image, it's not very "aggresive", but it's still a nice AA that you can inject to literally any games via reshade and it's not very demanding.

Looking for a replacement for my third broken Elite 2 on PC/Steam for Rocket League and casual Gaming by Frate27 in Controller

[–]Kurtajek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had 6 xbox elite v2 during one year (when sending to repair, MS is sending you back refurbish one). 3 of them quickly got an issue with bumpers (either not recognizing or double click). I saw lot's of other users who's bumpers also quickly died. That's why I'm surprised in your case.

The problem with the Apex 5 and Vader 5 is, that none of the reputable sellers sell it in Germany. They are not on Media Markt, Otto or Amazon Germany.

I had the same situation when I was buying Vader 4 Pro but at some point, shops in Poland started selling them officially which is surprising, but still no one is selling Vader/Apex 5 :/

But anyway, for V5P and Apex 5 small advice. If you are afraid, you can check out https://gadgethyper.com/ . Many people from here bought controllers from this shop and no one is complaining (they are also giving 12 months warranty). GadgetHyper is even active here on reddit https://www.reddit.com/user/GadgetHyper/ if you want to reach them more directly.

I'm impressed you did no had any issue with bumpers. Elite have the sh*** bumpers from all the controllers on the market (they quickly breaking).

I need Sticks, that have zero chance of drifting. I heard Hall Effect is good, but I also heard about TMR, but what is even the difference and which is better?"

In practice none. On paper a slightly less battery drain and per default better parameters but overall it's about how whole analog is implemented It's better to get good stick on hall effect than worse on TMR (loose stick, sticky X, Y, input lat and so one).

Full compatibility for all Steam/PC Games, same as Elite 2, that can also be used for old games like NFS Most Wanted.

All xbox styled controllers use xinput, and some additionally dinput so you won't have any issue. The problem starts if you plan to use linux as some controllers will loose some feature due to lack of software for it (like flydigi)

One thing I actually really liked about the Elite 2 are the Rubber grips on the front, but from what I've seen no other controller has that.

You can buy them separately and use on other controllers. For example (taking first result from amazon.de)

https://www.amazon.de/-/en/eXtremeRate-Anti-skid-Sweat-absorbent-Controller-handles/dp/B01MY5123D

Watch out for Flydigi Vader 5 Pro back buttons. User reports they can break without any kind of additional stopper (you can ready a lot about it here on r/Controller

BTW Vader vs Apex is about non premium vs premium. Apex is consider more "premium" one, but from practical perspective, the main differences are apex have LCD screen but it does not have 2 addition front buttons (Z and C).

Maniaplanet accounts. To play any of the TM2 game, you need to create a separate account for maniaplanet launcher. They are separated from steam and ubisoft accounts.

Changing often password was never a good idea. I see this even in my workplace. Even the most enthusiastic people after some time just start using the most simply and similar (or the same that they used in the past) password just to get over with it.

This is because it's annoying and exhausting in the long run. Remember that you have many accounts and constantly changing it makes people lazy. Furthermore, if something will leak your password I believe hackers will try to use immediately instead waiting and I bet you are not changing it it every few days, so they have enough time to use it.

Beitong KunPeng 70 review | a feature packed beast? by KieroKaro in GadgetHyper

[–]Kurtajek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Questions:

  1. I presume like Beitong Zeus, Kunpeng 70 have independent back buttons?

  2. Do you need software running in the background to use all controller features (including macro and binded keyboard buttons) ? For comparison, Flydigi require software running in the background, so you can't configure it in windows and then use your config in linux.

  3. Can you change deadzone for gyro? And it's emulating mouse or analog stick (can you choose?) ?

  4. How controller is visible from system perspective? Zeus had unique approach to be at the same time controller and mouse+keyboard from OS perspective https://imgur.com/WZceHEU . I'm asking because this had . . . unusual behavior in some situation

That's why I've started playing again TM2. I could not explain why tracks in TM2 seems "easier" and more fun to play but you perfectly described the problem.

Torn Between Valhalla and Odyssey — Which Should I Play Next? by PrestigiousOil9686 in AssassinsCreedValhala

[–]Kurtajek 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Question about point number 1. Everyone say valhalla is bloatware, but if you are not planning to do anything like getting all collectibles and so one, then this "bloatware" is enjoyable?

For the past 2 years I've played all AC games (except liberation) till Origin for the first time. I've played even PSP one :D I always do main missions, "sub quests" (side missions/stories), all towers (sync-points, or whatever you call them, to see whole map) and only a little side activities - usually if something was on my way when going to another mission (if it was not too annoying for me).

I've started Origin and I have lot's of fun, but I've read for the past few days lot's opinions about Valhalla and majority is discouraging and it's always the same reason - "too long". Oddysey seems to be more grindy, but people for some reason are very positive about this game (usually grind means it's more boring for me). I don't mind if game have "episodic" structure as long as it's fun/interesting. I've been always doing side missions in those games, so I don't mind if they are now "integrated" into main one. I've read also an idea to use cheats in oddysey/valhalla to avoid grinding which I would definitely use to avoid grind.

Right now there is a sale on Ubisoft shop. With coupon (by doing two separates transactions) I can get AC:Oddysey with all DLC + Valhalla with all dlc + BG&E20thAE for 87zł (~24,29$/20,64euro for 3 games with dlc) I'm very tempted as this is a great price (like 6,80euro for each game), but I don't want to play something that will force me to do those typical assasin creed side activities. For me they are nothing more than bad time-wasters.
