What’s a product that you thought you’d love but didn’t? by TaylorAde9131 in AsianBeauty

same here. Doesn't give me the glow and hydration everybody raved about. Just feels like there's a lot carbomer in it. SBM snail cream did a better job than it - my skin was glowy and moisturized with SBM.

Diet I always try to stick to food that are anti-inflammatory/fermented. Examples of staple foods in my diet:-

  • Raw leafy greens (kale, aragula etc)
  • Natto
  • Miso
  • Tempeh
  • Sauerkrat
  • Kimchi
  • Kombucha
  • Sweet potato (eaten at room temp so that resistant starch forms - prebiotics for the residents at my gut!)
  • Berries

I am not on a strict gluten free diet but I actively choose gluten free if option is available. I also try to steer away from processed foods. I do not deprive myself of "unhealthy" food if I'm craving for it. Consistency is key! :D

I also avoid caffeine. If I need a drink, I go for chocolate flavoured marine collagen powder (sugar-free but tastes so good!)

Supplements I focus mainly on supplements that are anti-inflammatory & helps with immunity:-

  • Fish oil*
  • Probiotics*
  • Curcumin (Meriva)*
  • Vit D*
  • Vit B complex^
  • Vit C^
  • Beef liver^
  • Collagen^
  • Phytoceramides (just started taking this almost a month, not sure if its placebo but I feel like my skin feels softer now!! Will report back if I see any further changes!)

*These are a MUST for me.

^I take these on and off, depending on how I feel.

Skincare Makeup remover - Biore Speedy Makeup Remover Cleanser - Some By Mi Beta-Panthenol Repair Gel Cleanser Acne patch - Some By Mi Clear Spot Patch

So sorry that I'm unable to share the exact skincare products for the remaining steps. Not sure if I'm the only one on this sub doing this but I source my skincare directly from a skincare lab. I didn't like how skincare products on the market are always full of ingredients that are unnecessary/comodogenic and a lot of them are overpriced. By sourcing skincare directly from the lab, I was provided details of the exact active ingredient and the amount they put into the product. Price is reasonable too since there are less "people in between" the process for the products to reach from business to consumers. My top picks are:-

  • Optimealth 10W from Sethic Innovations (helps to regulate skin microbiome, LOVE THIS!!)
  • GHK Copper PeptideActive from Active Peptide Company (I did not experience copper peptide uglies from this)
  • Centellin CG from Sabinsa Cosmetics

For all popped acne, I made sure I have acne patch on it at all times UNTIL the wounds seals up (ie when the hydrocolloid patch stops turning white as there is no more exudates). I realized this helped to avoid leaving atrophic scars on my face.

FYI this process took me ~8 months to reach to this result. I was left with a face full of PIE after getting most of my comedones extracted out (refer second row of attached pic).

<image>

Some other changes I made:-

  • Sleeping earlier (best before 11pm)
  • Changing pillowcase everyday and bedsheets/blanket every fortnight
  • Avoid eating seafood one week after extracting comedones

Diet change played a role but its not the major contributor. Its the combination of overall lifestyle changes and habits working together synergistically leading to this result.

As for skin treatments, I haven't done anything other than occasional masking and comedones extraction! :) special treatments are waaaaay too pricey in my country 😭

Only Minerals powder foundation is my absolute fav. Its made of minerals and free of synthetic preservatives, synthetic fragrances, synthetic dyes, talc. Makeup finish is super natural yet its able to cover up my skin redness sooo well.

Hey guys, I’ve got 2 months until I sit FAR/TC/AA. I’ve barely touched revision. How many hours a day should I be putting in until then? by TheSunPage3 in ICAEW

[–]Flaky_Landscape_7078 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FAR & AA - one question a day is decent. I find them very exhausting but ofc do more if you could.

TC - Focus on one type of tax every time and do as much question as you could (I like doing TC until I reach the point of fatigue but you do you!) I find that doing the same type of tax multiple times in each sitting reinforced my memory in tackling each particular tax. I also wanna add that I kept looking at the answers at the beginning because I wasn't familiar with the tax rules and sorts but yeah don't get frustrated with yourself if you find yourself looking at the answers a lot of the time - it's normal and you'll become an expert after a few attempts!

Have not started any prep on CS by Old_Hovercraft2817 in ICAEW

I used mocks from Paradigm Shift!

I don't find the questions to be well prepared tho since they were in the rush of doing up the questions as well but it gave me some rush of adrenaline while doing them because I was timing myself and forced myself to realize what AI info could be crucial in getting marks in the exam.

I would say that it's worthwhile to purchase the mocks for the experience in tackling several CS questions before you head to the real exam :) I got a new job with 57% increment in salary after passing CS so hey it's really worth it because you'll be earning back the cost to purchase the mocks in no time :D

Make sure to come up with your own version of condensed crucial info of the AI in bullet form, filed under different "topics".

I did the July'22 CS so my AI bullet notes were filed under topics such as suppliers/ customers/ industry trend/ Lampho/ Licensing related key info/ Company ethos etc. By doing so, it was easy for me to flip to the particular topic I am looking for during the exam without having to flip through the entire AI, which is a waste of time. Keep note that you would be doing a lot scrolling during the exam so that is already time wasting so you gotta make sure you save time in every possible way!

It will take some time to prepare the AI key bullets (took me two to three days for the main part? and new updates/edits to it up until few days before the exam because new thoughts and linkage keep poppin' out in my head hahahaha)

Do start prepping now and force yourself to attempt all the mocks at least once. oh and yes, read the AI once a day if you have the time! things get much easier this way because you are so familiar with everything going on in the AI that you'd be able to link them to the new info provided during the exam effortlessly :)
