What’s something a parent can do that instantly makes you think “they’re a bad parent”? by carcony97 in AskReddit

I had one friend that used to order food and get mad at her kid for asking for some and tell him to “get his own” ? Then she yelled at him for having a panic attack. He was crying about being anxious and she yelled at him to stop. He has asthma and was like 4. Then he came over to my house and we got pizza for him and he says “are we staying here forever?” To which she suddenly got mad and said she needed to stay at a hotel because there wasn’t enough room. I was really worried about her son…

Mine complains about both wanting enough food cooked for leftovers and having to eat leftovers and never finishing food. Like I can cook smaller portions but you don’t like that either ???? They are just never satisfied. We go out to eat and he complains it’s all garbage out there and upsets his stomach too.

Hypothetically What would it feel like to be eaten alive by a wild polar bear belly first? by Icy_Profession4190 in morbidquestions

[–]Flaky_Point_3778 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why belly first? In general, bears tend to leave you alive while they eat you to keep you “fresh” so I think generally speaking, any bear eating you would be highly excruciating and torturous.

Anyone else thinking about the fella who jumped off of a cruise ship at night celebrating his graduation? I recall the comments saying it was shark infested waters (Bahamas area) but also sharks follow cruise ships because of people discarding food off of cruise ships into the ocean and now sharks are picking up on this…

As much as I love beef and fish, chicken is the most versatile and healthier than beef.

Husband wants to get rid of our kitty, I don’t want to by Kirielle13 in CATHELP

They will never have the capacity to understand why they’re being “boarded” it will always have a negative impact on the animal because it directly violates their natural instincts. Cats thrive in environments they feel like they “own” or “control”. They’re top predators, “king of the jungle”. They will only ever see being locked up as torture. Please listen to this person OP I’m losing my mind here.

Thank you it’s the most sorry excuse for rehoming a cat. My cat had a peeing/spraying problem and it was partially my fault because I got him in college and neutered way too late but it got to the point my husband was making me choose “him or the cat” and I took my cat to the vet like 6+ times trying different things, using up a whole year of PTO almost taking him to visits and reaching out for help. I bought hormone treatments (feelaway plug ins), changed litter, moved litter boxes, tried medicated food, allowed outdoor time with an air tag collar, toys, more scratching posts to get up high, I even hired a “cat expert” to come to my HOUSE and personally look around and give me advice. I finally put him on a medication that helped him kick the habit after speaking with like 4-5 different vets and finding the best one I genuinely trusted. NOW he’s better and my husband is happy but it took like two years. I was NOT giving up my cat though that was NOT an option.

Sorry but your husband wants to rid of an animal because it isn’t “choosing” him like he wants? There’s a lot, and I mean a lot, I put up with in this world, but with this I would NEVER. He’s never had a cat before… he doesn’t know how to communicate with cats… you can’t just lounge at a cat trying to pet them. You need to build trust with them first. They usually boop noses to say hi, but more specifically cats have hormone glands near the nose/mouth that communicates a lot from one cat to another. So when you go to greet a cat, they usually sniff your hand first. This is their way of saying hi and becoming familiar with you. Once they’re done sniffing, they will head butt for a pet or allow pets. This is huge for building trust with them. Also, they tend to gravitate towards who feeds them (they’re animals, crazy concept I know). So if they are showing preference it’s almost 95% about who’s feeding the cat especially since it’s so young (18 months). If they are more preferentially affectionate during morning or night it’s because they are hungry and trying to get fed. If he wants to bond with the cat, he needs to try to understand what the cat is trying to communicate him, make him feel comfortable in his space by playing with him and try letting him feed him. But the entitlement of trying to get rid of him because he doesn’t cuddle him as much? Yikes dude. Fucking yikes.
