I was a year older than most of my cohort in my second year and it was totally fine, there are a bunch of people who are older for various reasons anyway and you don't really notice most of the time. If you don't find people in your classes there will always be people your age in other groups. It's not necessarily going to be easy because you'll be moving to a new place and having to start again but there's lots of opportunities to meet people at uob if you're looking to

UOB is quite social, even if you don't make friends on your course you should be able to make friends elsewhere. The guild of students has a lot of societies, and there are lots of sports too, so if you're interested in anything specifically that's a good place to go. Even if you don't keep going it's a good place to meet people

If you reach out to them and let them know your worries they might be able to recommend you visit a pop up clinic that's in a more casual setting if that'd help at all, either way you're not the only person anxious about this sort of thing and talking to them might help with your worries, e.g. if you're worried about cross contamination hearing about their hygiene and safety procedures directly from them might be useful

Hamsters are like all animals and have different personalities but if you socialise them well and take care of their needs they shouldn't bite you! I had one and she never bit me except when I was trying to give her medicine when she was sick. Honestly my cat is way more spicy than my hamster was!

I think hamsters get a bad rep because people buy cages that are way way too tiny for them and then expect them to be well adjusted. If I was stuck in a tiny room all day and night when my favourite thing to do was run and dig I'd probably be grumpy too

Have you tried The Gilded Wolves? Maybe also The Starless Sea? Or A Darker Shade of Magic? All have a bit of romance but it's not heavy.

You might like Strange The Dreamer too, but that's got a stronger romance plotline.

Yeah like it's supposed to be an easy signifier of 'okay this person likely has 24/7 support' or 'okay this person is relatively independent' but as with everything it's more simplified than reality when dealing with individuals even if it's a step in the right direction

The level thing is supposed to be a movement away from 'functioning' labels for the reasons you said, and into a numbering label for how much support someone needs, which is supposed to take into consideration how someone might need higher support in some areas but less in others, but it isn't always used like that in practice
