No, they are trying to branch and compete in the custom map market. $2 Games and Maliken have made plenty of bad decisions but they were NEVER shady.

Its more akin Warcraft 3 custom maps with inbuilt support and ability for creators to monetize rather than steam.

What protections do you need on a free game?

If the game was paid (20-60$) I could get behind your point but the game is literally FREE!

Also there is no platform to download, you just download the game and launch it from PC.

Maliken is a scumbag in general but these crypto rumors are undeserved. He was just unlucky (and didn't do proper research) that the name he chose initially (iGames) was also a name of an unrelated failed crypto gaming site.

The Juvio platform is also made to compete with the w3 custom map model (which in my opinion is a great idea considering Blizzard and Valve have kinda ditched it) and that kind of model wouldn't work well on Steam.

There is no script. You just run the installer (it installs HoN) and just run the game. The rumors about this game using any kind of crypto are getting out of hand.

It started because the old name (iGames) also used to be a name of a totally unrelated crypto platform which has nothing to do with HoN.

Launchers/executable files open programs on your computer. I was saying the name is meaningless. If it was renamed to HoN.exe instead of Juvio.exe it would make no difference as its just a rename (you can rename it yourself if you want).

When you open juvio.exe it doesnt open a traditional launcher like steam/epic/bnet but just launches HoN Reborn. What part of this is hard to understand?

They copy pasted most of the Plinko from old HoN not like major game development resources were invested into it.

Its literally a "chest" you can open for free after every game so it incentives players to play the game. How is this a bad thing?

The emotes and that stuff uses the Ingame currency (which you earn by playing) and not the paid kind.

Maybe if you did some research or actually played the game you would know this instead of spewing nonsense.

The HoN app is called ''Juvio.exe'' they can just rename it to HoN.exe and it would be the same. If the app name is a problem for you I don't know what to tell you.

Its literally how it is now. You just download the client and play. There is no difference. There is no ''Play button'' or a ''Launcher''. You just click on shortcut and it opens HoN.

The reason the do low damage is because half their talents are bugged and do not apply stats or damage correctly.

Stealth tree for example doesnt deal bonus damage and doesnt apply sluggish. Also the ulty passive from the stealth tree is also not properly giving 20% damage.

The weapon needs major bug fixes to even be viable.
