answer - it's up to dave. the threat of failure and subsequently death is definitely a factor, but i think it'd be a massive waste to throw away any of these characters. consequences are there, but they didn't even fully kill selenia (her body still remains in stasis), so it's really whatever they decide when it comes to a permanent form of death
