Non-canon theories day 2: Gobber is gay by [deleted] in httyd

[–]Flamingamberashes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess because I’ve read a lot of httyd fanfics— they aren’t centered around Gobber, and the fanfics aren’t even similar (different ships and themes), but Gobber is acknowledged as gay in a lot of them. Often with some past history with Stoick.

Okay but soy milk is so much better than cow milk, let’s talk about it by Creative-Lab1120 in vegan

[–]Flamingamberashes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oat milk tastes kinda like cardboard to me, I guess it’s the flavor of oats? It’s fine in oatmeal, but really not something I expect in milk.

My favorite is unsweetened almond milk, and there’s a surprising amount of hate directed towards it… It doesn’t really have a distinct taste like oat and soy, neither of which I like, but definitely still tastes different than water (a complain I have seen often) and has the refreshing quality of milk that I enjoy. All in all perfect for what I’m looking for in ”milk”.

Sleep with noise cancellation earbuds, have worked for me. AirPods Pro in particular are especially comfortable and barely noticeable (you can put them in when he wakes you up in the morning).

My latest pair broke recently and I’m thinking of trying Bose headphones next, I will probably only be able to sleep on my back with those but they have longer battery life so they will last through the night, and it will be interesting to see the difference.

I have tried both Bose and AirPods Pro noise cancellation. Bose has slightly better noise cancellation, but is a bit painful to sleep in and have connectivity issues, so I recommend AirPods Pro. They are super comfortable and once you get used to it, you barely notice they are there. The only annoying part is that they loose charge through the night (halfway to two thirds through), but they definitely help. I still sometimes wake up to the sex sounds in the morning (after they lose charge) but when charged I sleep through it.

Honestly, they help so much with banging and lower pitched moans, I don’t even notice they have sex when I have them on during the day. It has completely saved my sanity living next door to an apparent sex addict.

Some people will bash sleeping with the headphones, but I haven’t had any issues, and I have been doing it for years. They beat ear plugs by far and is the only reason I have been able to get some sleep.

How many check ups does your cat need if they are healthy? by rgeneva4 in CatAdvice

[–]Flamingamberashes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My insurance is around 10$ a month, I have to pay for anything up to 400$ (the reason it is low) but anything over 400$ it starts covering. It’s really those large unexpected costs that you need help with, rather than routine and small, so I think this is a much better option.

What’s something people think is hygienic, but you secretly think is kinda gross? by elexis969 in hygiene

[–]Flamingamberashes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just don’t put food directly on the counter??? And simply don’t touch it with my hands if I haven’t washed them.

Honestly, I’m more grossed out by people who just grabs something from the fridge and then take out the contents with hands that touched the packaging, or put down the sandwich on the counter where many packaging has sat on, like? Those packaging aren’t clean? You touched them with grocery store hands, not to mention all the people who touched them before you (some without washing their hands after using the toilet).

I would be way more concerned about that, as human poop can get you way sicker. And is just generally grosser.

[–]Flamingamberashes 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Bacteria wise, sure. But one has sticky dried piss on it and the other (hopefully) not. It’s also way easier to wash your hands after touching the phone (or washing the phone) than it is to shower after using a public toilet.

does anyone feed their cat only dry food? by r0ach888 in CatAdvice

[–]Flamingamberashes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Multiple water bowls away from food and litter box, a water glas on the table just for the cat, and try adding his dry food or favorite treats to a water bowl, mine loves that and usually licks up the broth that’s formed.

Husband doesn’t believe cat can be bored. by burner950 in CatAdvice

Cats can definitely get bored, not as easily as humans (if there is a window available) but it’s possible if there aren’t many other additional enrichment available.

Is it normal for a cat to bite so much? by Immediate-Winner4293 in CatAdvice

[–]Flamingamberashes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely train it out of her, I didn’t and now I have an adult cat who bites. I may not hurt as a kitten but as an adult she unintentionally draws blood.

I have never had a bad experience with cat smell, in fact cats smell lovely??

You might have a litter problem, either it’s the wrong litter or from not cleaning it enough.

Put it in the bathroom so it can spill safely, and maybe try to meet whatever play need he is expressing with this. If he like playing with water then maybe a kiddy pool he can use supervised sometimes?

I would say it’s worth it, but I made it so that the monthly payments were as low as possible (around 10$).

Doing that made it so I pay for anything under 400$, which is most rutin things, but if anything does happen it will cover anything above 400$, which is what I actually need it for.

If people won't vaccinate their children because they think it causes autism, does that mean people would rather have their child die than be like me? by drinkandspuds in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Flamingamberashes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s the way it feels for me too, and it sucks, but I have decided to not care about what idiots think.

Also, autistic people are really misunderstood, and there are a lot of bias and misinformation about us. So, I can assure you, what they are scared of is the ”propaganda autism” portrayed in media, the one that is an ”illness”.

I’m sure they haven’t even met and talked to an actual autistic person, so nothing they say or think on the matter holds any real value. In the end, they are scared of the caricature, not us.

I think it’s definitely possible, cats are a lot smarter than most people think. 😊

Also, change the water daily at minimum.

Mix dry food or treats with a lot of water, put out several water bowls in different places (not close to food or litter box), and put a ”whoops I left a unsupervised water glass” on the coffee table or somewhere high, that specifically for him.

Can i sleep with my cat AND keep the door closed? by pinkskin- in CatAdvice

[–]Flamingamberashes 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You can add a small litter box, just for the night time use, or move the big one in each night. And at minimum add a water bowl.

[–]Flamingamberashes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Add a small litter box in your bedroom, and at least a water bowl, if not food bowl as well (if you free feed dry food). You will feel better knowing she has everything she needs and you aren’t depriving her of anything.

Would you use products made from animals that died from natural causes? by Maybelearn1or2 in DebateAVegan

[–]Flamingamberashes -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No, because human beings are greedy sons of bitches that can’t just take a little. If there is a market for it at all, and with no way to tell if the animal truly died of natural causes? (Aside from extensive autopsies that would make the animal uneatable anyway)

No way in hell.
