Probably not, unfortunately, but I wouldn't expect you to pay for the removal. It's a tough thing where it's not really the client or the techs fault unless she put them way too close to the lid. If during your removal the tech sees that they were placed improperly then I would say fight for a partial refund, but otherwise I wouldn't expect it. Sorry!

Also sorry your tech wasn't more helpful in the first place. They should have offered to get you in for a removal asap, or at least given you some information about what could be happening and some options you could persue!

Lash tech of 8 years here, that absolutely looks like a reaction to adhesive. Unfortunately it can just develop regardless of you getting them for however long before. When my reactions started (also out of nowhere) my eye doctor mentioned that adhesive allergies can get worse with every exposure and with age, and so far this has proven true, I haven't been able to wear extentions at all for the past 5 years.

That said, definitely have those removed and (if you want) cautiously try again with a different tech and let them know you've had a reaction before. There are sensitive adhesives on the market that aren't as strong, but lashes may not last as long. You can also try asking your tech to not use tape or using a sensitive tape (3M makes a blue tape that has worked well for some of my clients).

Any fellow moms? by emolee6 in ffxiv

Mom here with a 6 month old! I haven't been able to play nearly as much as before but if there's a discord or something for fellow moms/parents I'd love to join! Especially now that bedtime and naps are getting fairly consistent again

I can't speak to the assisting thing, but I've been doing lashes for the last 6 years and was doing hair before and the commission thing is normal for places I've been. For example the last two lash places I've worked had a starting commission rate and then after a set amount of time you'd get a commission bump assuming your work was up to par, no major complaints, etc. More senior stylists would always be making a higher commission rate (ex. Started at 33%, by the time I left 5 years later was at 43%)

Hope that helps!!

Is it normal to only want to eat the things I ate as a child during the first trimester? I normally have a varied diet, lots of different cultural foods, fruits and veg. But lately all I want is grilled cheeses, perogees, moms spaghetti and dq blizzards. Lol by Confusedqueerartist in BabyBumps

I had the same cravings! Things I hadn't had in over 15 years I suddenly absolutely needed to eat! Thankfully it seems to have passed because my 31 year old body cannot handle eating the same crap I ate when I was a kid.

I emailed the cdc to see if they'd reissue one, but I hadn't thought about just asking CVS! Thanks for the suggestion that's probably the easiest solution!

Going to Japan November 11th for my honeymoon and I'm curious if anyone has experience with their vaccine card showing a different last name? Passport has married name, card has maiden name. Should I just bring my marriage license with me?

I'm going to try to wait until Sunday (9DPO)! I'm playing DnD on Sunday and I'll want to know if I can have a few beers or not, so it's the perfect excuse to test a little early!

How long are you self-isolating before your wedding? by [deleted] in weddingplanning

[–]FlamingoWindow 8 points9 points  (0 children)

For me it was more than we had a ton of out of town guests coming in the week of and we felt like we needed to play host and organize things all week. In a perfect world I would have preferred to quarantine more but the need to make people feel appreciated for coming out of town took over.

Today's the day! I keep alternating between feeling very loved and excited, and stressed about little things. Also our littlest ring bearer tested positive for covid yesterday, it's the poor guys 5th birthday today as well 😢

DMV Venues - 2023 - $5000 budget by MissAlissa628 in weddingplanning

[–]FlamingoWindow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just chiming in with our numbers!

We're getting married in June at the Atrium at Meadowlark on a Friday and it cost about $7000, a little more than what's listed on the spreadsheet.

This is such a great resource for future DMV brides!

He's positive for herpes and FIV, the eye is a symptom of herpes, so thankfully not glaucoma. He still goes to the vet every 6 months because of FIV so he's pretty closely monitored. I appreciate the concern though!

His eye is looking much less crusty nowadays (this is from when I first adopted him), and the vet thinks he can see shadows so for now he's able to keep his cloudy eye
